Dorie is an independent girl who can keep herself entertained with toys and puzzles, but would also benefit from having a playful friend around the neighbourhood to help her socialize more.  She is smart, and understands some basic commands (sit, lay down, shake a paw.) We have been working on recall and she does well on leash. Having a strong prey drive, Dorie will chase after small animals (including cats and small dogs). So household devoid of a cat or other small animals is needed. Dorie has been friendly meeting children, but has not been with them for any extended amount of time. She does well with women and has made some dog friends around the neighbourhood. There are some days where she will bark at other dogs, as well some men, but she is able to be redirected with consistent work.  Dorie would do better in a home with a yard where she could relax. Her preference is for shorter walks, and her recall is getting better, so has been having lots more off-leash time. She hasn’t wanted to try swimming yet, but has been out on a paddle board several times. Introducing Phillip! Phillip is the type of dog that many would describe as near perfect! From the moment he was rescued in Mexico, it was pretty darn clear that he is a true gem. Phillip is 1½ years old and weighs approximately 22 lbs. He is fully grown and measures ~17” to the shoulder. Although we don’t know Phillip’s exact breed(s), he resembles a mix of Golden Retriever and Tibetan Spaniel. Phillip was rescued from the streets of Guadalajara in early October. He was taken to safety at a rescue shelter in the area. Almost immediately, everyone wondered how this amazing guy ended up on the streets. Did his family dump him? Did they move away and abandon him? He must’ve had a family at some point because he has all the characteristics of a well-socialized, well-adjusted doggie. Phillip is incredibly friendly and sociable. His affection for humans knows no bounds! He just loves to be petted, cuddled, and kissed. He is not shy with little humans either - in fact, he’s wonderful with kids. Phillip’s friendly nature extends to other pets as well. He gets along with both dogs and cats, making friends easily with four-legged pals. Phillip has never shown any type of aggression or reactivity, not with humans or animals. He does not resource guard or behave dominantly. He’s not much of a barker either. His overall temperament is just lovely, which endears him to everyone he meets. Phillip’s energy level is not too low and not too high. He certainly enjoys playtime and running around with his doggie friends. He likes to go for a couple walks a day and a romp in the park if time allows. On the other hand, he also knows how to wind down and chill. When it’s time for relaxation and snuggles, Phillip can definitely embrace the down time. In terms of training, a couple things that Phillip would like to practice at his future home are house training and obedience commands. Coming from the streets and living at a shelter, these are things he hasn’t had opportunities to master yet. But given his people-pleasing nature and love of treats, Phillip should be a quick study! With consistency, routine and positive reinforcement, this boy will make leaps & bounds in his basic training. Phillip has been vet checked and has a clean bill of health. He is neutered, up to date on all vaccinations, dewormed, and receives flea/tick preventatives. Distemper negative. SNAP 4Dx negative (Heartworm, Lyme disease, Ehrlichia, and Anaplasma). He has no known medical issues or injuries. We have no doubt this wonderful guy will be scooped up quickly and bring tons of happiness to his new family. Luna is an approximately 1.5-year-old golden retriever mix with a heartbreaking past, but an unyielding spirit. Luna's life began on the streets as a stray. At some point, she became a mother to a litter of puppies. Tragically, while her puppies were still very young, Luna was struck by a car, leaving her hind legs paralyzed and struggling to survive. A local resident noticed Luna dragging herself through the streets to find food for herself and her puppies. Soon after, Luna was rescued along with her puppies. However, due to limited resources, Luna eventually found her way to Baibao Rescue, where we've been committed to providing her with the care and attention she deserves. Through diligent rehabilitation in the last few months, Luna has shown impressive progress. Though her gait remains unsteady, she can now bear weight on her back legs and walk independently. While incontinence remains an issue, she has also made significant progress. She currently wears a diaper but we believe that with the right owner, she can further improve. Luna is a loving and friendly dog, despite her tragic past. Her playful curiosity brings joy to every day, as she explores her surroundings with newfound happiness. She gets along well with both cats and dogs. Luna loves to eat but kind of goes crazy over food and eats too quickly, understandable given her background but it's something prospective owners will need to keep in mind. Luna would not be suitable for a household with dogs that are food-protective. However, Luna's interest in food will make training her much easier. For Luna's forever home, we seek an experienced dog owner with the time and patience to continue her rehabilitation. An individual who works from home or is retired would be an ideal match, as Luna requires constant attention and support. Caring for a disabled dog is a responsibility, but the rewards are immeasurable as you witness her progress and thrive. Lucy is looking for a family with kids and at least one other dog that likes to play! She loves being included in day to day things so it needs to be a family that enjoys doing things with their dogs. Lucy loves walks, hikes, riding in the car and playing. She's been thru training, is crate trained, housebroken, walks on leash etc. She does best with structure and clear consistent boundaries and will delight you all! However, as there is no such a law that lets me die, I met a kind chairman who helped find a place to stay and get fed. I find joy in every activity, especially when it involves human companions. There's always a reason to be happy, right? Welcoming people with open paws is my forte, and I thrive on the love I receive through cuddles and, of course, snacks. I'm a snuggle expert, though my excitement can sometimes get the best of me due to my limited experience with humans. Hence, a family ready to handle my high energy level is strongly recommended. While I'm friendly, a household with cats or young children might not be the best fit, as my exuberance tends to express itself through jumping. My friendliness is extended to my doggie friends too. I can share treats and toys with them, and love to smell out each other. Enjoying fresh atmosphere with committed physical activity with friends makes me blessed.
