Story
Meet Lucille, a 46 pound 2 year old Doodle who came to us with her sister, Ethel. Lucille's foster dad says she affectionate, but reserved in expressing that affection. She loves to play with toys and is especially excited when she has a sock to toss around. Lucille enjoys going for walks and just being outside. She gets along well with both small and large dogs and is playful with her sister and the foster's dogs. Lucille is crate trained, is working on her housetraining. Both girls are looking for a quiet home with a patient family that can give them time to adjust and learn to trust them. A family without small children is best, as Lucille and Ethel can be startled by noises and fearful in new situations. Ethel and Lucille are timid with new people, but they have already come to trust their foster family.  They would both benefit from having another dog in the home to give them confidence.  A fenced yard is required. Lucille's minimum adoption fee is $250 plus a $15 rabies registration fee for McLean County residents. She has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives. Story
Cooper is a one-year-old Goldendoodle weighing 48 pounds, and he’s the perfect mix of sweetness, energy, and playful curiosity. Still very much a young dog, Cooper loves to run, play, and explore the world around him. He enjoys spending time outside, whether that’s chasing toys in the yard or engaging in a quick game of tag with another dog. Cooper is fully house trained and has done a great job keeping his foster home clean, even when given free rein in a gated area overnight. This friendly boy gets along beautifully with everyone he meets—men, women, children, and dogs of all sizes. He’s especially fond of playing with other dogs and is always ready to make a new friend. His gentle, affectionate personality shines through when he’s around kids, and his foster family describes him as a “very good boy” who just wants to be part of the action. Cooper does well in the car and enjoys going on little adventures. While he’s still learning his leash manners and isn’t a big fan of wearing one yet, he’s eager to please and will thrive with patient, consistent training. He’s also crate trained, though he needs a bit of encouragement to go inside; once there, he settles down and sleeps through the night. Because Cooper is still young and full of energy, he would do best in a home with a fenced yard where he can run and play safely. He’ll need a family ready to give him the time, attention, and love he deserves. With a little guidance and a lot of affection, Cooper will make a wonderful lifelong companion for anyone looking for a happy, loyal, and loving dog. His minimum adoption fee is $400 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives. Story
All Pet Central animals are up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, microchipped (registration included), and current on parasite prevention. Dogs over six-months of age are heartworm tested. When adopting, we will ensure that you receive copies of veterinary and microchip records. Records are sent via email. Paper versions are available upon request. If you are interested in this pet, please fill out the brief Adopter Survey by hitting "Apply for Adoption" on the profile above. After we review your completed survey, we will contact you by phone or email within three business days. Please note- Out of respect for our volunteers and staff, we are closed on Sunday and Monday and will not be processing any applications on those days. Please get back to us right away when we call or email regarding an application so that we can quickly connect using the process below: Select a pet and submit an online adoption survey. A PCH! adoption counselor will contact potential adopters within three business days (PCH! cannot guarantee any pet's availability, but we make every effort to accommodate adopters with a reply and possible alternative suggestions). An adoption counselor and client will then have a conversation to answer questions, discuss any medical needs for the pet and determine the suitability of a match (if necessary, we may opt to put adopters in touch with foster parents). After a match is made, clients will be asked to sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee online through our secure payment system *Please see our modified no-risk return policy. (below) The PCH! adoption counselor will then set up a specific appointment time and location. Adopters should bring a pet carrier and/or a leash to pick up and their ID. Adult pets will be wearing a collar. It is important that clients arrive on time, neither early nor late. Cats and kittens are required to leave in a pet carrier. If your adoption is scheduled at Pet Central Helps!: Upon arrival inside the Crossroads Center complex (360 Wylie Drive), look for the black Pet Central Helps! semi-trailer, which is right outside of our facility (Suite 720). Park in the parking lot and enter the facility. A PCH! representative will greet you and show you to the adoption room. Your new pet will be handed to you. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. If your adoption is scheduled at PetSmart – Bloomington, IL: Park in the PetSmart (1606 E. Empire St.) Parking lot and enter the store. We will be set up just inside the store entrance. Let us know you are here to pick up your pet! A PCH! representative will confirm your information and hand you your pet. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. If your adoption is scheduled at the Cat’s Meow Cafe: Navigate to PetSmart, park in the parking lot and enter the store. Locate a PCH! Representative at our adoption table and let them know you are picking up a Cat Cafe Cat. You will sign your final contract with your counselor and snap a picture of the completed screen. Head to the Cat’s Meow Cafe at 507 N. Hershey Rd and provide them with the snapshot of your final contract. They will get your cat and take a “Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. PCH! supports a 30-day no-fault return policy in which adopters are given the opportunity to find a better match. If we cannot provide advice/tools to keep a pet in the home we offer these options: Exchange for a pet that may be a better match** Receive a refund minus a $40 processing fee** With this approach, we can often turn mismatches into opportunities! Thank you, Pet Central Helps!
