Story
Please contact Janelle (adopt@q.com) for more information about this pet. Please visit our main website https://almosthomenm.org/   We also offer boarding and have a Facebook page with photos and stories. Be aware birthdays and breeds listed are our best guesses based on looks - we seldom know this information unless they come in with registration papers. This sweet girl is looking for a forever home and with someone who can give her all the attention she deserves. Polar is roughly a year and a half old, and we think she is a mix of many but Great Pyrenees, Golden Retriever, and Australian Shepard seems to fit her the best! She has a sweet, lovable, and gentle personality and gets along fantastic with other dogs and adores people. She can be very hyper most of the time and tends to jump all over people and she can play rough with other dogs, she has gotten better over time with the older dogs telling her she’s crossing the boundaries but she adapts very well and takes correction. Polar is very active, very smart, and has grown up on a small farm with many other dogs (big and small) horses, goats and sheep. Even though she loves the farm life, she would also benefit from a more involvement, and active lifestyle. She would love to go running, play dates, and she absolutely loves swimming and playing in the pool! She knows sit and rides well in the car, does great for the groomers, loves cuddles, kisses, and to be carried like a baby!    Adoption fee $200 includes spay, age appropriate vaccinations, deworming, microchip, rabies   Send us an e-mail to adopt@almosthomenm.org requesting an application to adopt this sweetie!! Story
With a heavy heart I am trying to rehome my dog Smalls. He is not small as you can see but he was the smallest in his liter when he was born. Because he was the smallest his brothers and sisters would not let him eat. So I ended up bottle feeding him and ever since then he stole my heart. I took care of him at the same time he took care of me. He is so precious and caring who is a big dog but he still thinks he is still a puppy. He tried to sit on my lap but doesn’t fit. He is afraid of the thunder and rain. He is very friendly with other dogs and children. My 1 and 1/2 year old grand baby loves to play with him. He love cuddles and love to give kisses. I would love for him to go to a home with a lot of room since he has a ton of energy and loves to run around. If I don’t have to I wouldn’t be giving him up. If you have any other questions please feel free to reach out to me.

Story
Ivan, a handsome Golden Retriever mix, is a mellow, friendly guy patiently waiting for his forever home since December. Rob, Ivan`s favorite AWD volunteer, says he loves the bouncy, happy way Ivan always greets him. Then, Ivan quickly settles down to explore, although he is always up for a good brushing, petting and attention. Of course, he sits on command too. Iván rides well in the car as well!Rob imagines that Ivan would be a pretty low maintenance fellow around the home. He describes him as noble yet unassuming. Ivan, at four year old, stands out for his really superior walking skills. He is a real pleasure to stroll around with or just hang out together on a grassy lawn. He has taken side by side walks with other shelter dogs, as well as doggie day outs with them and did very well! but he should have the opportunity for a meet and greet if you have another dog in the family. Come meet Ivan today!Check him out on his Doggie Day Out: https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTN2STpoD/Don’t have TikTok?
