Story
Meet Jax - a 3 to 5-year-old little yellow lab weighing less than 50 lbs. Jax has beaten the odds of transitioning from an outdoor living semi-feral dog to a house dog who's thriving under human love and dog companionship. Jax came to RICO as one of many dogs dumped by a breeder in a field in Jackson Co. He wouldn't allow a human within 20' of him and urinated in fear if anyone approached him. He had obviously lived a life of neglect and abuse. Jax had no idea how to climb steps, which side doors opened from, how to eat from a bowl and so much more. Fast forward to today - Jax follows his foster mother everywhere. He loves to go on car rides. He will allow a collar and leash on him but has yet to 'love' leash walking but he tolerates this. He's obsessed with dog beds and dog toys. He willingly walks into the vet office and trainers building whereas a month ago he had to be crated and the crate carried into that space. What's most important for Jax in finding his forever home is another dog who is playful and confident. Jax has learned best by watching his foster brother live a 'dog life.' Jax will need a fenced in backyard and a patient owner as everything will be new, again, to him. Jax is not crate trained but will need a safe space such as a laundry room in his new home. Jax is a happy dog, his tail is always wagging, he's always up for a good wrestle with his foster brother and loves to end the day with snuggles and tummy rubs from his foster mother.Apply to meet him at ricopetrecovery.org. Adoption fee is $250

Story
MBR holds monthly adoption events on the 2nd Saturday of every month at Tractor Supply in Columbia Station, 24100 Royalton Road from 11 am - 2 pm. Questions can be emailed to rescue@mbrohio.com Meet Chelsea — a sweet, golden-hearted senior looking for her forever home. Chelsea is a 10–12-year-old Golden mix who proves that age is just a number. This older gal still has plenty of joy left to share, especially when there’s snow to play in, a stuffed toy to toss around, or a good game of tug-of-war on the agenda. She’s a social lady who gets along well with other dogs and cats. She hasn’t been tested with children yet, so we’re not sure how she’d feel about tiny humans. Chelsea isn’t a big cuddler, but she truly loves being near her people—content to hang out in the same room and soak up your presence. Chelsea does have some hearing loss, but it doesn’t slow her down one bit. She’s potty trained and crate trained, and she’s currently working on polishing her leash manners. With a little patience and consistency, she’ll keep improving. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who enjoys playtime, peaceful togetherness, and snowy adventures, Chelsea might just be your perfect match. She’s ready to bring warmth, companionship, and a whole lot of heart into her next chapter. If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs, the first thing to do is submit an application for approval. All dogs available for adoption are in foster homes. Please do not visit the rescue location as it is a privately run boarding, training & grooming facility. Individual meet and greets are scheduled by appointment only for approved adopters. MBR Farm is offering ONE Free Private Training session for dogs adopted from us in the month of March. That is a $125 value. Any additional session will be discounted to $80 per private session for an unlimited amount of sessions. No limit, no time limit. Your first session must be completed before May 1, 2026.
