Story
We have owned River since he was weened. He's now 3 yrs old. He is a small "quarter Doodle" mix between a Golden Retriever and a Golden doodle. He is a good dog, but very excitable. We hoped this would pass with age, but it has not. He demands much attention but never seems satisfied. We have an older Golden Retriever as well and the two are inseparable, but when we give them attention it generates increasing excitement between them. River needs a home where he is the owners best friend and constant companion. He is good with his companion dog Hank, but like any sibling, they have "words" from time to time. He is trained to a crate for nighttime and when we are away from home. He is not allowed on the furniture and rests comfortably on a dog bed when my wife and I are relaxing. We have had good success with a wireless fencing collar, but need to monitor carefully during power outages of when in need of a battery charge.

Story
This is Carsonie, a sassy sweet puppy excited to have her own humans to play with. She gets so excited when we arrive in the play room, and is very independent. She knows how to hold her own with her larger siblings, and loves to play with toys. She likes to burrow when she is feeling sleepy. She wants to be the center of attention and knows just how cute she is. She loves to play with tug toys with her siblings and likes climbing on her mom for extra attention. She is eager to please and earn treats. She is one of the smaller girls, and curls her tail like her mom. This sweet puppy is one of Frankie's Pups. Born November 23rd, this little puppy and all their siblings are lucky to be alive after their mom was found wandering the streets, and were born just 36 hours after being placed in a foster home. The adoption fee for Carsonie is $350. The adoption fee includes the first two sets of puppy shots at our partner veterinarian. The adopter is responsible for the third and fourth sets of puppy shots at their own veterinarian. The adoption fee also includes the spay surgery when she's old enough to be spayed at our partner veterinarian.Apply to meet Carsonie at ricopetrecovery.org. She will be available to go to her forever home after 2/9/2026.

Story
Meet Jax - a 3 to 5-year-old little yellow lab weighing less than 50 lbs. Jax has beaten the odds of transitioning from an outdoor living semi-feral dog to a house dog who's thriving under human love and dog companionship. Jax came to RICO as one of many dogs dumped by a breeder in a field in Jackson Co. He wouldn't allow a human within 20' of him and urinated in fear if anyone approached him. He had obviously lived a life of neglect and abuse. Jax had no idea how to climb steps, which side doors opened from, how to eat from a bowl and so much more. Fast forward to today - Jax follows his foster mother everywhere. He loves to go on car rides. He will allow a collar and leash on him but has yet to 'love' leash walking but he tolerates this. He's obsessed with dog beds and dog toys. He willingly walks into the vet office and trainers building whereas a month ago he had to be crated and the crate carried into that space. What's most important for Jax in finding his forever home is another dog who is playful and confident. Jax has learned best by watching his foster brother live a 'dog life.' Jax will need a fenced in backyard and a patient owner as everything will be new, again, to him. Jax is not crate trained but will need a safe space such as a laundry room in his new home. Jax is a happy dog, his tail is always wagging, he's always up for a good wrestle with his foster brother and loves to end the day with snuggles and tummy rubs from his foster mother.Apply to meet him at ricopetrecovery.org. Adoption fee is $250
