Story
Meet Moose!
Moose is a handsome 2-year-old Goldendoodle who is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and heartworm negative. He has spent most of his life with one family and is now looking for a new home after major lifestyle changes left him spending long periods crated each day.
Moose is a loving, goofy, and affectionate dog with a big personality. He enjoys being close to his people and would happily spend his evenings curled up beside you chewing on one of his favorite Benebones. While he'd love to sleep in bed with his humans, he respects boundaries and is content sleeping on the floor when expected.
He knows basic commands, walks reasonably well on a leash, and rides wonderfully in the car. Moose is house-trained, crate-trained, and has done well when left home alone, though he does show some signs of separation anxiety. He would thrive in a home where someone is around much of the time, as he truly loves being with his people and gets very excited when they return home.
Moose enjoys playing with other dogs who match his playful energy and would do well either as an only dog or with a compatible canine companion. He is not a good fit for homes with cats, as he tends to chase and pester them as though it's a game. While not aggressive, he simply doesn't understand that cats don't always want to play.
He does have some mild food guarding behaviors, typically giving a growl if another dog approaches his food bowl. This is easily managed by feeding separately and has not escalated beyond warning signals. Because of this, we recommend a home with older children who can understand and respect his space around food.
Like many young doodles, Moose can get the zoomies and may be a little mouthy during playtime, but his foster family is actively working on improving his manners. He is eager to please and responds well to guidance.
Moose can be anxious during veterinary visits and professional grooming appointments. However, he has done well being groomed at home when given extra time and patience. He prefers not to be restrained or tied up during grooming sessions.
If you're looking for a loyal companion who will greet you like you're the best part of his day, Moose may be the perfect match. He is ready for a stable, loving home where he can be part of the family and enjoy the companionship he craves.
