Story
Hello! My name is Grizzly.  Here is some information about me: Breed: Petite Goldendoodle Age: 7 years old Gender: Male Weight: 33 pounds Height: 18” Hi there… my name is Grizzly, and I’m a 7-year-old petite Goldendoodle with a big heart and an even bigger love for my people I may be small at 33 pounds and 18 inches tall, but I’m full of warmth, loyalty, and affection. I’ve spent my whole life in a loving home, raised carefully and thoughtfully since I was just 8 weeks old. I know what it means to be part of a family, and I truly shine when I can form a close, meaningful bond with my person. I’m a cuddly, attentive, and supportive companion—the kind of dog who notices how you’re feeling and wants to be right there with you. My energy level is moderate and flexible: I enjoy short walks, calm outings, and then settling in to relax by your side. Quality time is my favorite thing. I don’t have a strong prey drive, and I much prefer peaceful moments over chaos. I do like to use my voice and can be a bit of a barker, especially when I’m alerting my people or feeling protective of my home. Because of this, I’d be happiest in a detached home rather than an apartment or shared-wall setting, where I can feel relaxed and express myself comfortably. My life recently changed when my family welcomed a baby. While I’m a good boy, I find babies and young children overwhelming, and it’s become clear that I’m happiest and most at ease in a calm, adult-only home. I truly want to thrive again, and that means finding a space where I can feel safe, understood, and deeply connected to my humans. I’m generally friendly with other dogs, but I can be a little protective of my food and toys, so I’d do best as the only dog, where I don’t have to share and can fully relax or in a home that knows how to manage this. The good news? I’m house-trained, neutered, and up to date on all my vaccinations. I have great manners, a loving nature, and years of companionship to offer. What I’m hoping for now is a forever home where I can be someone’s loyal sidekick—sharing quiet mornings, gentle walks, cozy evenings, and lots of love. If you’re looking for a devoted, affectionate companion who just wants to belong, I might be your Grizzly I get along with: Dogs: yes Cats: unknown Kids: no small children Energy Level: low-moderate Fears/Prey Drive: small children Training: yes Leash Skills: Yes. Please be prepared to continue with my training. Housetrained: Yes.  Please assist me in learning where to go in my new home. Health: I am healthy, up to date on vaccinations and neutered.  I need to be microchipped. My adoption fee is $750 CAD plus taxes Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems. Basic training should be taken seriously but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if the dog is shown to be good with children we will approve homes with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website.  While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. You will NOT be charged the passenger fee in addition to this. [MID EAST DOGS] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East. ##2608123##
