Story
Hello beautiful -- Introducing Lisa! Lisa is one of the sweet girls from our shelter pull this weekend. She was surrendered by her owner to Harris County, though we don’t know the reason why. We do know one thing though…this mama has clearly had puppies recently, but sadly they were not turned in with her.   Even though Lisa has only been with us a short time, she has already shown us just how gentle, calm, and loving she is. She’s the kind of dog who just melts into you. Lisa gets along well with other dogs and so far seems more like a laid back girl than a rough-and-tumble player, but as she settles in and gets more comfortable, we are already seeing her personality bloom. Watching her start wagging her tail and open up has been so special    We would absolutely love to get Lisa into a foster home soon so she can finally relax and know what it feels like to be truly loved. If this sweet mama sounds like your kind of girl, please head to www.scoutshonor.org and fill out a foster application today! October 4, 2026, 9:05 pm

Story
Sweet Jasmine’s story is one we wish we didn’t hear so often. She found herself at Harris County Pets and landed on the long-stay list, where time was running out. We spotted her during a shelter pull, but with so many lives to save and not enough hours in the day, we had to leave without meeting her. We couldn’t stop thinking about Jasmine, so first thing Sunday morning, we went back. We hoped she’d be as wonderful as we imagined. To be sure, we introduced her to another dog we planned to save, and Jasmine passed with flying colors. No surprise there! Jasmine is a people girl through and through. Her favorite place is as close to you as possible, preferably curled up in your lap, soaking in all the love and attention. She has a gentle, affectionate nature that makes it easy to fall for her. Jasmine is dog-friendly and enjoys playtime, including with younger, high-energy dogs. She also loves cuddles and being close to her people. With her sweet, easygoing personality, she could be a wonderful fit for just about any loving home. She’s settling in beautifully, discovering the safety and kindness she deserves. Now she just needs a foster or forever family to make her happy ending complete. Could that be you? Visit scoutshonor.org to learn more about fostering or adopting Jasmine. Story
Cooper is a small dog with a big heart who has been misunderstood because of the challenges he has faced. While he may need an experienced handler who understands fearful or uncertain behaviors, there is so much more to him than what appears in a shelter kennel. When given patience and a chance to feel safe, Cooper shows the dog he truly is — affectionate, loving, and eager for companionship. He enjoys cuddle time, walks beautifully on leash, and has formed positive connections with volunteers who have taken the time to know him. Cooper does not need someone to “fix” him — he needs someone willing to help him rebuild trust, gain confidence, and learn that he is finally safe.
