Sugar (affectionately known as Sugar-Bear) is a senior Great Dane mix who still plays like a puppy and lives life with a joyful bounce. She loves to take walks, and play in the splash pool when it’s hot! Though considered a "senior", she still has plenty of life in her. She is very gentle with people, but would prefer to be the only dog in her home. She has a great personality! She just wants a forever home where she can stretch those long legs!This animal is at the City of Chico Animal Shelter. Meet JET! Gender: Male Weight: 75lbs Age: 1.5 yrs old Breed: Great Dane Mix Energy Level: Medium Jet isn’t just big—he’s a big family man! Jet loves his people and loves being with them—from the youngest member to the oldest. While he’s really great and gentle with children, he too is just a big kid himself. He’s a handsome goofy boy who still has puppy energy and needs direction on what is a toy and what is not. But he is learning! He loves treats and toys, and wants to learn all he can to be a Good Boy. Jet’s favorite activities includes outtings to the dog park, going running with his foster dad, taking long walks on the beach, and of course, chasing squirrels. Jet: • Is housetrained • Is crate trained • Is good in the car (he rides in the way-back since his current human siblings need the backseat) • Is pretty good on a leash • Loves being with his people, no matter where they go • Can be timid with strangers • Loves playing with dogs • Knows Sit, Bed, and Stay (…for the most part) • Is pretty quiet unless frustrated (can’t get that squirrel…) Jet would love a home with someone who let him be their wingman, help build his confidence around strangers, and teach him how to be the best boy he can be. He needs a family who is patient and kind and accepts him for who he is: a big goofy boy who is just trying to learn the rules of living his best life. Holly is a sweet, gentle soul who loves nothing more than being close to her favorite people. She’s happiest when she’s by your side for a walk, soaking up the sunshine, or just relaxing together after a nice day outside. This smart girl already knows several commands like sit, down, stay, and wait, and she walks pretty nicely on leash too! Holly loves learning new things and being praised for a job well done. She is still learning to share her favorite treats, for that reason, we are requiring that any children in the home be 10 years or older. Because Holly loves having all the treats and attention to herself, it is required that she be the only animal in the home so she can truly shine. Holly will make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a loyal, affectionate friend who will always be there to brighten their day.
