ABOUT LINK
This gentle, giant has been overlooked for far too long! Link is a 3 year old Great Dane mix. Unfortunately, due to his size, Link has had very little adoption interest. He came to HAP from a high-intake shelter partner in Georgia when they no longer had space for him. Despite moving around a bit, Link isn't giving up on finding a loving family to call his own! He enjoys spending time in our fenced fields to get his zoomies out and play with his friends. He loves to sniff and explore too, making him the perfect adventure buddy! After some time outside, he melts into a snuggly baby and loves getting back scratches. Link is so friendly with new people, we don't understand how he hasn't been adopted yet! Link has participated in our Doggy Day Out program, take a look what our volunteers had to say about their day with him:
"Link was the BEST boy this morning on our trail walk. He's a big guy, so he might look like he would be a handful, but he is the sweetest, chillest, marshmallowiest boy. He has irresistible velvety ears that he likes having rubbed. If I could have a dog, I'd be in trouble! Really hope someone adopts this sweet guy soon."
"Link and I had a good, long hike today at Carousel Park! He's a handsome guy with plenty of energy. He loves to take in all the smells and sounds of outside. He knows 'sit' and will look for that tasty reward! He seemed to kind of know "come," also. Overall, he has plenty of energy for a hiking buddy and they'll be rewarded with his affection! He welcomed being pet and liked to lean on me for love!"
**Link is seeking a home as your only pet.
If you're interested in Link, you are welcome to submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is first-come, best-match basis. We are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in a specific dog but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! All household members, including children, must come for the meeting to ensure it is a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animal's spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, fecal testing, heartworm testing, and a small bag of food to get you started.
