Story
Snoopy is a 3-year-old Great Dane/Bully mix. Snoopy was adopted at 6 months old and from the very beginning, they were struck by how much love and affection he radiated. He has an incredibly warm heart and a playful spirit that lights up any room. Snoopy loves to play—whether it’s with his favorite toys or with other dogs, he’s always up for some fun and social time. At home, he’s not a picky eater—he enjoys both meat and dry food, especially when there’s some variety. He loves discovering new tastes and gets excited at mealtime. Snoopy is full of energy, but after about 20 minutes of play, he’s usually ready to curl up and relax. What makes Snoopy truly special is how intelligent and emotionally intuitive he is. He seems to understand exactly what you’re saying and often responds in ways that make you wonder if he knows more than he lets on. He’s clever, goofy, affectionate, and incredibly loyal. He’ll make you laugh, comfort you when you’re down, and remind you every day what unconditional love looks like. Snoopy does suffer from separation anxiety, which means he gets very stressed when left alone for long periods. With proper care, consistency, and attention, Snoopy thrives in an environment where he isn’t left alone for too long and where he can continue to feel safe and loved. Snoopy is a very strong boy and walks on leash with vigor and excitement, so a strong handler is required. The great news is that he’s super friendly with people and dogs on leash, just a happy, confident boy in all settings. He gets along great with other dogs, and has been a frequent dog park visitor since he was a puppy. He’s good with dogs of all ages and sizes! He also grew up with babies and is extremely sweet and gentle with young children. Snoopy is vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed and sterilized and will come with his medical booklet. Sometimes a dog takes a little more time to open up, you may see them showing more and more of their personality over the course of the first few days, weeks or even months. We don’t know all that they’ve been through before they were rescued, but they are so forgiving and full of love and it’s worth every tough moment in the end. Developing a trusting relationship with your rescue dog is the most important thing. Stability, patience, positive reinforcement and love are the most important things! Note: To help manage this, he’s currently on two prescribed medications: • Fluvoxamine 100 mg • Trazodone 150 mg. These medications help reduce his anxiety, especially during long absences or stressful transitions.
