Story
Midnight Whiskers’ story began in Germia Park in Pristina, where she was found as a tiny stray puppy at just 3 months old. She was rescued and cherished for nearly a decade by a family who loved her deeply. Due to unexpected job loss and international moves, they heartbreakingly had to make the impossible decision to find her a new home. Midnight Whiskers is almost 10 years old (turning 10 in October), about 50 lbs, and believed to be a Greater Swiss Mountain Dog/Hound mix. She is extremely well behaved — fully house trained, leash trained, spayed, and gentle to her core. She won’t snatch food from your hand; she waits patiently and takes it softly when invited. She is wonderful with children and adults alike and has a calm, loving presence that makes her an easy companion. She has no health issues and recently completed all required veterinary checks when she traveled to the U.S. (she even has her Kosovo passport!). The only mark she carries is a small injury on her nose from trying to escape her travel crate — she truly hates being confined and just wants stability and a place to belong. Midnight Whiskers would love a home with a yard where she can chase birds, bury her bones (one of her favorite hobbies!), and, if possible, enjoy the snow she adores so much. She is healthy, gentle, and ready to give someone a few wonderful years of loyal companionship. This sweet senior girl has already been through so much change. Let’s make sure her next move is her last — into a loving, forever home.
