Story
Mya is a beautiful 3-year-old Greyhound mix with a heart as sweet as can be. Mya is a timid and sensitive soul who needs a little extra time to discover that the world can be a safe and wonderful place. Mya is looking for a very special person who will give her the patience, encouragement, and understanding she needs to come out of her shell. She may need some time to feel comfortable in a new home, and her adopter should be prepared to let her settle in at her own pace. No rushing, no pressure, just plenty of gentle encouragement and reassurance. Mya has lived with other dogs, and really leaned on them for confidence. So, if you have a confident dog at home, Mya may happily learn to be brave from them. *Mya is currently available through our foster-to-adopt program. She is currently on medication for her skin, and also being treated for Heartworm. This means she will need to be mostly leash-walked and kept quiet, which is easy for her.
