Story
Mama Kay2 years, spayed female, 50 lbsPyrenees, Bassett Hound, Cattle Dog mix Mama Kay has raised her pups (Alpha Guardian litter) and this farm dog is now ready to find her forever home. She is the sweetest girl and loves all the people and pets. She is true to her breeding, and is a fantastic alarm for intruders. She is medium energy but loves to play and romp with an active dog similar in size in her foster home. LIKES: Barking like it's her job (it is); chewing bones, tough chews, etc. Sleeping on soft beds and cushions or cool floors. DISLIKES: Listening to requests to stop barking. TRAITS: Friendly with everyone, she takes her role as intruder deterrent seriously. But she would probably welcome a stranger into the house and let them rub her belly. She loves walks and opportunities to sniff and explore new places and things. She likes being outside and resting at her sentry position. POTTY TRAINING: She does best with regular opportunities to go outside. She signals and stands by the door if inside. CRATE TRAINING: She has been putting herself in a crate with a cushy dog bed to rest while at her foster home, but she resists bring put in a crate when she knows she will be closed in sometimes. She doesn't howl or bark when in a crate in general though. Use of a crate when she is unsupervised for an extended period is recommended because she is smart. Overall Mama Kay is a great dog and joy to have around. We want to find her a home where her skills are appreciated and where she can be her best self. No apartments or homes without yards, or homes in densely populated neighborhoods. She barks at cats but wouldn't hurt one. Story
Mizuki 1 year, spayed female, 16 lbs Beagle mix LIKES: Being outside, belly rubs and snuggles (when she trusts you), chewing, toys, playing with her foster sister, eating buzzing insects, treats DISLIKES: Loud noises, being left alone PERSONALITY TRAITS: Mizuki is slow to warm at first and needs lots of time and patience to feel safe in new spaces/with new people/new pets. Once comfortable, she’s a lovable little goofball! SUPER SMART (learned to sit just by watching foster sister), very sweet and cuddly, and wants constant attention. Does wonderfully with other small dogs, cats, and chickens. Loves to play with toys and has had a fun time with her foster parent’s toy basket. Has a decent amount of separation anxiety and would do best with a family who is home more frequently (or can take her with!) POTTY TRAINING STATUS: Potty trained! She has a doggy door in her foster house that she uses regularly to go in and out. CRATE TRAINING STATUS: Likes to sleep in crate with door open, but does not like being locked up. Should not be left alone with anything she can stress chew. ADDITIONAL INFO: As an adolescent dog, Mizuki is still very fond of chew toys/treats to stay busy. She is learning the leash but getting more comfortable with walks at her foster home, but will need a fenced yard. She went on a long car ride and weekend getaway with her foster family and did well with the car and new environment. She would likely do best in a home with another dog that she can follow and take her cues from. To further inquire about MIZUKI, submit an application.
