Story
UPDATE!! Meet Kino . He was found abandoned on a dirt road with his siblings. He appears to be like black mouth cur/hound/cattle dog mix… maybe!? He is now 5-6 months old and 25-30 ish lbs. He is leggy and lean. Not a big pup at all. He is an active and playful pup. This boy loves other animals and children. He loves to romp and play outside and would be perfect for any household. He’s a little timid in new environments but opens up quick. Kino is utd, dewormed, altered and ready for his happy ever after. All dogs have a $175 adoption fee which includes vet check, age appropriate shots (atleast 2 sets for puppies), dewormer, heartworm test (if over 6 months), rabies (if atleast 16 weeks) and spay/neuter! Puppies will be altered before adoption. All rescues and shelters practice pediatric spay and neuter. This is essential in our rescue efforts and it is a policy that we will stick by. All dogs over 8 weeks and 2 pounds will be altered before adoption. There are no exceptions to this rule on all healthy and adoptable dogs. We have researched and discussed in depth with multiple vets everything on pediatric spay and neuter and from a rescue stand point it must be done. Please do not ask for an extension on spay and neutering, it will NOT be granted on a healthy puppy! Puppies/Dogs that are not available for adoption due to vetting not being complete can be reserved with an approved application and a non refundable $50 deposit. This deposit is applied to your adoption fee and the remaining $125 is due at pick up. Wags and Whiskers is an all-volunteer rescue. We also have full-time jobs and Families. We will try to answer all questions and applications in a timely manner. Please be patient and bear with us . Do not contact Parkway Animal Hospital as they are a vet clinic and can not answer questions on behalf of Wags and Whiskers. All questions and comments must go directly through the rescue. Thank you for your understanding. Story
HI..my name is Bella. I`m 9 yrs old. I`m a fawn colored Beagle. My Owner rescued me and my sister from being euthanized in 2016. We both came from a terrible situation...we were being used to train big Pit Bulls to fight. When I was rescued, I had bad cuts and lacerations, but my owner took me and my Sister to the Vet and got both of us treated. We both lived outside in a huge covered dog yard and loved to play fetch, play with our toys and watch the deer and squirrels in the early morning and late afternoons. My favorite thing was being shown attention and swinging in the outdoor swing that my owner had installed, under the carport. I don`t like fireworks or loud guns...so my Owner would bring me inside on the 4th of July and other holidays. When the fireworks stop, I am totally fine. I currently stay inside with my owner, and my Cat buddies. We even sleep together some nights. I love playing with my Cat buddies. When my owner has time, he will hold me and we watch TV together. We fall asleep in the recliner some nights. I love great tasting wet dog food and love dry dog food. Dog treats are lots of fun also! I usually hide my treats, because when I was young, I had to hide my food, or those big mean Pit Bulls would take it away from me. I`m in great health now. I got a second chance at life in 2016...however now...my owner. can no longer take care of me due to health problems and trying to help a very close friend with her health issues. I would love to have a new home with loving doggy parents...I would probably be best with someone older from 50`s up...that are possibly retired and can show me love and attention as I grow older. I Would love to meet you if interested in adopting me. I would be a great friend and loyal companion to you. Thanks for listening to my story. My name is BELLA.ADOPTION PACKAGE:Thank you for your interest in adopting your next pet from The Haven.
