Story
Ready to fall head-over-heels for a classic beagle beauty? Dixie is a 3-year-old, TINY beagle tipping the scales at just 18-pounds. She's an absolute sweetie with a heart of gold—and a stubborn streak to match (because, well... beagle).   After raising six beautiful pups, this “Supermom” finally gets her chance to be a spoiled family dog (probably for the first time). She’s gentle, affectionate, and strikes just the right balance between playful pup and window watcher.   If you're not familiar with the Beagle breed, then you should know they are smart, independent, and DETERMINED to do things THEIR way. As sweet as she is, Dixie is no exception. Patience, training, and consistency are a MUST for her to thrive in her forever home.   Now that her mama days are behind her, Dixie's playful side is starting to peek out more frequently. She has done great coexisting with her furry foster siblings (cats are still an unknown), ADORES a good hike or walk, and believes every interesting scent deserves a full investigation!   She’s strong and QUITE enthusiastic on leash, so she’ll benefit from continued leash training and probably a no-pull harness.   A physical fenced yard is required—Dixie’s nose is in charge, and she’s not above plotting an escape when adventure calls. Bonus points if you have a squirrel or 10 to keep her entertained!   And, let’s be real: she’s a beagle, which means she has a big voice when the mood strikes. She’s not excessively noisy, but when she sings, the whole house will know. Apartment or condo living just isn’t for her (your neighbors will thank you).   Dixie is newly housebroken but still adjusting—expect some accidents as she settles into a new routine. She’s worth it!   Healthwise, Dixie has been treated for Lyme and Ehrlichiosis (both very common from tick bites). She'll need a blood test to confirm success and of course an adopter who will look out for her and make sure she stays on year-round protection (a MUST) so she doesn't get reinfected.   Adoption Fee: $300 (includes spay, microchip, vaccinations, and current flea/tick/heartworm prevention).  Apply today at  https://pawsandprayers.org/adoption-application/   Dixie is ready to trade her foster home for one full of adventures, belly rubs, and unconditional love. Could she be the family addition you've been waiting for?May 13, 2025, 7:21 pm

Story
Meet Grace — Sweet, Sassy, and Full of Personality! Born in foster care on 12/27/24, Grace is a half-beagle cutie who’s equal parts cuddle bug and independent explorer. She’s playful, spunky, and full of life — but under that mischievous twinkle is a shy girl who is going to take time to warm up to new people. Once she trusts you, though? You’re in for plenty of kisses and snuggles.   Grace has the classic beagle stubborn streak (fair warning!), and she’s not afraid to march to the beat of her own drum. She loves playing with other dogs and would thrive in a home with a friendly canine companion. A fenced yard would be ideal too — it’ll give her a safe space for zoomies, sniffing missions, and building her confidence. We do not feel that Grace would be the best fit for a home with seniors or very young children.    Her mom is a petite beagle (18 lbs.), and based on growth charts, we’re guessing Grace will land in the small range (around 25-ish lbs. fully grown). But as with most mixed-breed puppies, looks, size, and personalities can evolve quite a bit as they mature! (The results are in! We JUST got back the DNA test for one of Grace's siblings - 58% beagle, 33% supermutt, 9% Yorkie)   Please remember: * Puppies are a LOT of work — they chew everything, they can’t “hold it” for long, and they need lots of time, patience, and supervision. * Beagle mixes are known for being vocal — Grace is not a fit for apartment or condo living. * Grace will need a family ready to invest in training, consistency, and plenty of love to help her grow into her best self.   Grace's adoption fee is $400, which includes her spay, microchip, age-appropriate vaccines, and flea/tick/heartworm prevention.   If you think you'd like to add Grace to your family, the first step is to submit an adoption application at https://pawsandprayers.org/adoption-application/ . (Please note: inquiries through Petfinder or other sites are NOT applications. Also, your veterinarian MUST HAVE PERMISSION to speak with us in order to process your application.)May 10, 2025, 1:55 pm
