Story
Meet Aster — the sweetest little Beagle Basset mix with the biggest heart and the cutest bay! Aster is an absolute love bug who lives for snuggles and being close to her people. Her favorite place is curled up beside you, burrowed deep under the blankets, soaking up all the love and attention she can get. She is the kind of dog that wants to truly be part of your everyday life. But don’t let those soulful eyes fool you — in true Beagle fashion, Aster’s nose can lead her into adventures of her own! If she catches an interesting scent, she is ready to follow it, and she has proven to be quite talented at escaping fenced yards. Because of this, Aster will need supervised outdoor time and a family committed to keeping her safe. At her foster home, Aster is crate trained, potty trained, and walks nicely on a leash. Like any dog transitioning into a new home, she may need a little time to adjust to a new schedule and routine. Aster is very food motivated and wonderfully affectionate, but she also embraces her Beagle Basset roots completely — including the adorable bays and howls when she gets excited or wants attention. The Bagle Hound mix combines the playful, scent-driven personality of the Beagle with the laid-back charm of the Basset Hound, making them affectionate, stubborn, hilarious, and full of personality. If you are looking for a loyal cuddle buddy with a goofy streak, a love for blankets, and endless affection to give, Aster may be your perfect match. She is dog kid & cat friendly ##2003573##

Story
***LOCAL ADOPTION IN TEXAS ONLY*** Meet Rufus He's not for everyone, but that's what makes him special!   Rufus is a gentle, sensitive boy who forms strong bonds with “his person.” Once he trusts you, his personality really starts to shine—he’ll get excited for meal times, follow your routine, and just enjoy being near you.   He loves spending time in the backyard and feels most comfortable hanging out with his dog friends. Other dogs help him feel more at ease, so a home with a calm, confident pup or two would be a great fit.   Rufus is nervous around new people and in unfamiliar situations. He may not immediately take treats from someone he doesn’t know yet, but that’s because trust means everything to him. With time, patience, and consistency, he continues to make progress and build confidence.   He’s looking for a patient, understanding home that will let him go at his own pace and celebrate the little wins along the way. In the right environment, Rufus will be a deeply loyal and rewarding companion.   Rufus will need a dedicated person or family to give him time and small steps towards a loving life.   ##2566466##

Story
Meet Tigger — a sweet, soulful terrier mix with a long, lean build and an even bigger heart. This special girl has been through a lot and is ready to find the loving forever home she always deserved. Tigger is incredibly affectionate and bonds deeply with her people. She loves being close to her humans and will happily soak up all the love and attention you can give. She’s fully potty trained, enjoys short bursts of playtime, and has a curious little explorer streak — she may wander off to investigate, but she always comes back on her own. Tigger can get along with other dogs and even cats when introductions are done slowly and properly. However, she would truly thrive in a calmer home where she can be the center of attention. She can be a little possessive of her humans and has a bossy, herding-style personality at times — similar to a Heeler or Aussie — and may nip at other dogs to “put them in their place.” She has never been in a fight and does not show aggression, but because of her strong personality, Tigger would do best as an only pet or with just one calm, respectful furry companion. Tigger would also do best in an adult home or one with older children (12+), where her boundaries and need for a peaceful environment will be understood. Tigger was rescued from a difficult situation and tested positive for early heartworm disease. She is currently on a slow-kill treatment plan and will need continued monitoring and prevention. She previously received ProHeart 12 and will continue follow-up treatment as directed by her veterinarian. Tigger also takes Vetmedin to support healthy heart function, though she does not have heart disease. Because she is recovering, she needs restricted activity while undergoing treatment.   The only other requirement for her ideal home is a fenced yard, as she has a tendency to dart out the door if given the opportunity — which is also why an adult-only home would be the best fit for her. While we understand that not everyone has a fenced yard, it would provide her with the safest and most stress-free environment. That said, we are open to considering exceptions for the right home and family. Despite everything she’s been through, Tigger remains loving, loyal, and full of sweetness. She’s looking for a patient, caring home where she can feel safe, loved, and cherished for the rest of her life. If you’re searching for a devoted companion with a gentle spirit and lots of love to give, Tigger may be your perfect match. ##2366209##
