(Dunkie, Dunks, Dunkers, Mr. Big Cheeks…the list goes on)!
This sweet boy is 9 years young. Lived the thug life in a trailer park, but don’t let that fool you, he is the sweetest cat with a goofy and mischievous personality. Duncan loves bird watching, hunting insects, and chasing small plushies around the room. While usually a chill and laid-back cat, Duncan will get random BURSTS of energy that makes you wonder where he found the catnip (bet his supplier from the trailer park comes late at night).
Looking for your shadow? Have no fear, Duncan has that covered for you! Once he has selected you as his person, he will be with you 24/7. He loves to snuggle up with you on your couch, your blankets, in the bathroom, anywhere and everywhere! He will “politely” remind you when it is feeding time. He does get a little persnickety about his food’s flavor, so variety is going to be your best friend! Do be warned, Duncan loses all manners when it comes to people food, so establishing boundaries for your nuggies early on will be crucial.
Duncan is an absolute sweetheart when it comes to kids. He is completely patient with babies and will allow them to pull on ears, tail, and fur with no complaints. If he has had his fill, he will calmly leave. Duncan has been with other cats, and while he can cause some mischief with them, he does relatively well.
Duncan absolutely cannot be in a home with dogs. Unfortunately, there is great disdain and lack of trust with dogs (even with slow introductions and treats) and for those reasons, it is safer for all to not be housed with dogs
Come meet the Big Cheeked Bandit and fall in love with all his quirks and charming personality!
We are looking for a special home for Duncan that can continue his medicine for cryptococcus infection. Cryptococcus is a chronic fungal infection that can take months to years to fully treat. It is not infectious to other cats or people. Duncan has been on treatment for a year and has substantially improved. We could do a foster-to-adopt situation if you are interested in Duncan! Duncan has no teeth so he prefers a pate-style wet food diet only.
