Story
Meet Benson, a sweet and loving tabby boy who is eagerly searching for his forever home. This gentle soul was found as a stray, but it's clear he deserves so much more than life outside. Since arriving at the shelter, we discovered that Benson is living with Feline Leukemia (FeLV), which affects his immune system. While this means that he needs a little extra care, it doesn’t diminish his affectionate personality or desire for companionship.Benson is looking for a home where he can either be the only pet or live with other FeLV-positive cats, as he thrives in a safe and loving environment. He’s ready to bring joy and warmth to a lucky family. If you have a big heart and are ready to give Benson the love he deserves, please consider adopting him!BAHS waives adoption fees for FeLV+ cats and offers post-adoption support to help them thrive in their new homes. If you’re ready to give this affectionate, outgoing boy a loving home, fill out an adoption application now!**Adoptions are by appointment only. Story
Meet Garfield, a loving and sweet yellow and white kitten in search of his forever home! He was found in a yard with his four siblings and their mother. Fortunately, they were rescued and given a chance at a better life. While their mom has already found a loving home, Garfield and his siblings are now ready to find theirs!Garfield has a gentle nature and adores other animals, especially his siblings. As they’ve all warmed up to people, they’re excited to share their love with a new family. It’s important to note that Garfield and his siblings are FeLV positive. This means they carry a virus that can weaken their immune systems. However, many cats with FeLV live long and healthy lives without significant issues.Despite his condition, Garfield’s lively spirit remains unaffected, and because of his FeLV status, his adoption fee has been waived! Since they are FeLV positive, it’s essential that they are kept as indoor-only cats and that they are the only cats in the home to prevent spreading the virus. Rest assured, FeLV is not contagious to other pets, like dogs, and as long as any other cats in the home are also FeLV positive, there’s nothing to worry about. If you’re considering adopting two kittens, think about welcoming both Garfield and one of his siblings into your home. They’ll bring endless joy and companionship to your lives!**Adoptions are by appointment only.
