# Meet Neeko Havanese Poodle Mix **Age:** 1 year old. Neeko is a sweet, sensitive little guy who is gaining confidence every day in foster care. He is very shy and prefers to observe from the distance. He is currently taking treats from his foster home placement hands. Neeko is currently being fostered with Nacho, and the two have formed a wonderful friendship while continuing to build confidence together. Having a calm, confident small breed dog in his forever home is essential, as Neeko looks to another dog for reassurance and security. He is still learning to trust people and will need a patient, understanding family committed to gentle handling and **force-free, positive reinforcement training**. Force-free obedience classes with one of our approved trainers are a mandatory requirement for adoption. Neeko thrives in a calm, predictable environment where he is given time to build trust at his own pace. He sleeps quietly in his crate overnight and is becoming more confident every day. Neeko does best with Nacho. They are more confident being with each other. ## Neeko's Ideal Home * Adult-only home * Another calm, friendly small breed dog is required * No children * No senior dogs * Detached single-family home only * Secure, fully fenced, locked yard * No apartments, condominiums, townhouses, or duplexes * Force-free home and training methods only ## Adoption Area Heart Prints Dog Rescue Society accepts applications only within the Edmonton Region: * Beaumont * Devon * Edmonton * Fort Saskatchewan * Leduc * St. Albert * Sherwood Park * Spruce Grove * Stony Plain We do not adopt outside our established adoption area, outside Alberta, or outside Canada. ## IMPORTANT **Neeko is currently not attending Meet & Greet events.** He is focusing on trust-building in his foster home and is not available for public meet-and-greets at this time.
