Story
Meet Mina! This beautiful "Himalayan" girl came to us from a backyard breeding situation and has already overcome more challenges than most kittens ever face. Mina was born with atresia ani, a congenital condition that required corrective surgery when she was 6 months old -- her breeder never realized there was an issue and sold her to an adopter who was unaware of Mina's troubles. There is a small chance that Mina could need another corrective surgery down the road. She does take a daily (inexpensive) medication to keep things moving:) Today, Mina is thriving and enjoying life like any other playful kitten. She does have a very slight amount of incontinence, but her veterinary team is hopeful that as she continues to grow and develop, this will improve even further. Mina doesn't let anything slow her down—she's sweet, resilient, and full of personality. If you're looking for a truly special kitten with a remarkable story and a bright future ahead of her, Mina may be the perfect addition to your family. All cats adopted through our rescue are age appropriately vaccinated including rabies & FVRCP/Feline Leukemia vaccines, dewormed & free of fleas, combo tested (negative unless otherwise noted), microchipped and spayed/neutered before adoptions are finalized. We also have a cat cafe full of friendly, furry faces -- Whiskers Catnip Cottage in Granville! If you would like to adopt, please fill out the application through the link or the website at www.whiskersofohio.org. You will receive an email confirmation when your application is received; if you do not, please double check that all questions on the application were answered and that your email is correct! We make no breed guarantees; we are a rescue, not a breeder. Please apply only if you are committed to adopting! Our workers are all volunteers and it takes time to process applications. We are a registered, volunteer run 501c3 non-profit organization. We do have the ability to fly a cat or pair of kittens via Southwest's SWATT program to any location served by Southwest Airlines. It isn't free but has been a great way to transport animals in a timely manner.
