Story
Janus. (Jay-Nus) The Roman god with 2 faces. Janus represents new  beginnings, transition, duality & the month of January is named after Janus.  Janus is a very special and unique sweetheart. Her personality is bigger than her 18lb body & the extra personality escapes her mouth while meowing.  She is definitely a big lover & will constantly & repeatedly demand you reciprocate her affection until you are scratching the top of her head, or the side of her jaw.  Once you are being affectionate to her… order some takeout because she will NOT let you stop without protest. You won’t want to stop giving her the kitty scratches & more than likely will get lost in her soft, long fur. That experience alone is enough to motivate me to brush her every other day. A gal with hair this fabulous needs her brush time just as much as she needs her naptimes.  Being a bigger gal, she no longer has biscuit makers… she has murder mittens… and they are the cutest murder mittens around. My heart melts every time she reaches out to me for more kitty scratches.   Her markings are stunning & match her personality and name perfectly. Her Manx tail is a “rumpy riser” in length. Just a little bump/ball above her rump. That bump moves around a lot like a full length cat tail. It’s cute.  Janus needs to be the only show in town. She doesn’t care too much for other cats. She expresses this by hissing, growling & going back downstairs to her “apartment” (2 rooms set aside in our basement to foster cats/kittens).  She interacts with people well though.  Janus loves to play what I call “The Hand Game”. It’s when cats pretend your hand is a mouse they have caught. Grabbing onto it with her front paws and kicking with her back paws. Janus knows her strength though and won’t extend her back claws when kicking. She also knows her biting strength and will dial it back just enough to play but not hurt. Most cats are reflexively vicious when playing the hand game. Not Janus. If -I AM- gentle with her, she will be gentle with me. She even responds to “be nice” “gentle” “no kicking” & “ow!” (although she does hiss at me if I say “ow” too loudly or harshly. I know she enjoys the hand game because she will “innocently” fall over while I am petting her, lay on her back and slowly draw my hand into her belly chest area with her front murder mittens…then she acts all suddenly surprised and offended by the presence of my hand. She does this several times over the course of each time I’m down there. If I’m -not- actively petting or scratching her… she will “helplessly” fall (it’s more of a flop) against my leg/knee and initiate the hand game on her own, even if I’m not participating. She always purrs loudly when playing the hand game. Janus loves to play string on a stick too. It’s also fun to watch her pounce on the robot mouse toy. Janus is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines and dewormed. Her adoption fee is $50 and she will come with a copy of her medical records as well as a sample of her food. ##2399185##
