Story
i know, I look strong. Maybe even a little serious, with my big husky mix frame and striking face. But let me tell you a secret—inside, I’m soft. Really soft. I’m a quiet, gentle boy who just wants a calm place and a kind heart to lean on. I'm about 2 years old and weigh around 25kg (that’s about 55 lbs). I’ve been through more than most dogs my age should ever have to face. I used to be someone’s dog… but I was left behind. I spent a long, long time waiting at a city shelter—until one day, my name ended up on the final list. The “no more chances” list. That’s when I was rescued. That’s when hope came back into my life. Despite everything, I love people—so much. I’ll come right up to you, tail wagging, gently pressing my body into you like I’m asking, “Can I stay? Can you see me?” Whether you’re a man or woman, young or old, if you're human, you're someone I want to love. That’s just who I am. I’m also pretty cool with other dogs. I do especially well with female dogs, and I don’t make a fuss over males—I usually just mind my own business. I’ve been used to shelter life, so I know how to go potty in my kennel, but if you help me get into a good home routine, I’ll adjust smoothly. I’m smart like that. Walks? I love them. I try really hard to match your pace, and I pay close attention to how you move and guide me. I might need a little space if we meet certain male dogs on the street, but with a steady hand and a little guidance, I’ll stay right by your side. Always. I love toys. I love treats. I love gentle hands and quiet afternoons. I don’t mind the vet or taking medicine. I even wear my harness like a pro. If you’re new to having a dog, I’ll make it easy for you. I want to be the kind of dog who makes you wonder how you ever lived without me. I’m not here for loud chaos or constant action. I’m here to be the steady soul beside you—the one who walks quietly next to you in the park, the one who rests his head on your knee when you’ve had a long day, the one who comes when you call and stays when you need comfort. I'm Skull. And I’m ready to be your forever.

Story
Beautiful husky girl Chiquita, born April 2023, is looking for a home. She is approximately 41 lbs. Her mum and littermates were often seen wandering in the area of the SPCA PV sanctuary and staff and volunteers saw them in deteriorating condition due to a diet heavy on garbage and took them in to give them the care they needed. After she got refuge in the sanctuary, she lived through a hurricane which heavily damaged the shelter, and she had temporary refuge in a home that unfortunately had a landlord that didn't allow dogs.. but in that time, she learned what a home is and what it is meant to be loved. Chiquita is an energetic girl so she’d love a yard with some space to burn off some zoomies but was in a foster home in an apartment. She loves the beach. Her foster mom just loved her, described her as a fast learner, and a great cuddler. She has learned basic commands - sit, come, waits to eat her food. She isn't destructive in the home and did well in the car. She is selective with other dogs, and can be reactive, and would squabble with her siblings. Kids make her nervous so she'd prefer a quiet adult home where she can learn more about the world. Chiquita would be best in a home without cats as she shows high prey drive. Video of Chiquita with her shelter friends: https://www.facebook.com/spcapv/videos/1401202434079126 She is now healthy and vaccinated. If you think you might be her happy home, please contact us at pvcaadoptions@gmail.com for more information. Chiquita is currently in Mexico but can fly to a Canadian home near you! Story
A striking 9-month-old Husky mix with a calm quiet personality and a heart full of potential. He is seeking an experienced, active home that understands the unique needs of his breed. He thrives in a structured environment and will do best with a family that can provide consistent daily leash walks, a securely fenced backyard, and plenty of mental enrichment. He is not suited for homes with small children; older kids (around 12+) may be considered at the discretion of our team. Off-leash parks are not appropriate for him at this time—he needs time to build a strong bond and reliable recall as well as multiple one-on-one interactions with neutral dogs. A commitment to continued training is essential, and enrollment in a basic manners class or private behavior sessions is required. If you`re ready to invest in a loyal companion and have the time, space, and knowledge to help this dog thrive, he just might be your perfect match.
