Story
🐾💙 Meet Odin — A Brave Young Soul Ready for a Fresh Start 💙🐾 Odin is an 8–9 month old neutered male Pitbull/Husky mix who has already lived more life than any puppy ever should. In his short time, he’s been passed around through five different homes, including time spent living on the street. When you’re shuffled hither, thither and yon, you learn to protect yourself. For Odin, that meant keeping his back to the wall and trusting no one. On his very first day with us, Odin chose exactly one person to trust — the young woman who picked him up. Everyone else? Absolutely not. But we didn’t give up. Each staff member sat with him, fed him treats, spoke softly, and gave him space. One tiny moment of trust at a time. And now? Odin has begun to bloom. He trusts every staff member enough to be moved, cared for, and even show off his silly, wiggly, puppy personality that had been buried under fear. He wants to love and be loved — he just needs the right people who will meet him where he is. Will Odin pop into a new home and instantly become a carefree, happy-go-lucky dog? Nope. But what he will do is reward patience and understanding a thousand times over. Odin needs a family who will: ✨ Come spend time with him at the shelter to earn his trust ✨ Move slowly, gently, and celebrate the small victories ✨ Give him structure, security, and unconditional acceptance ✨ Let him open his heart at his pace Is Odin worth that extra effort? 1000% he is. Once Odin trusts you, he is loyal, goofy, loving, and deeply devoted — a truly special dog who just needs someone to finally choose him forever. Adoption Fee: $300 Odin is neutered, started on his vaccination schedule, and microchipped. He weighs 35.1 kg/77.2 lbs. 💙 Can’t adopt Odin but still want to help? They are always worth it. 🐾💙

Story
🌤️ Meet Sandy 🌤️ Sandy is a 2–3 year old spayed female Husky/Lab mix with a soft heart and a gentle soul. She can be a little shy when meeting new people or experiencing new situations, but once you earn her trust, Sandy shows just how sweet and loving she truly is. Sandy enjoys playing with other dogs off leash and can be quite playful in the right setting. When on leash, she can be reactive around other dogs, so she’ll need a family willing to continue working on her confidence and leash skills with patience and understanding. She is looking for a calm, committed home that will take their time, go at her pace, and help her safely experience the world while building trust and confidence along the way. With consistency, kindness, and reassurance, Sandy has so much love to give. 🐾 Sandy is: Spayed Started on her vaccination schedule Microchipped If you’re interested in meeting Sandy, please visit www.mjhs.ca , click the Adopt tab, then Adoptable Animals, and scroll to her sweet face to submit your application. Once your application has been reviewed, we’ll contact you to book a time to come spend some time with Sandy to be sure she’s the right fit for you. We look forward to hearing from you and helping Sandy find the loving home she deserves 💙

Story
Meet Cookie! 🍪🐾 Cookie is a 1 year, 10 month old spayed female Collie cross with long legs, a lean athletic build, and a whole lot of enthusiasm for life. She weighs 30.3 kg (66.6 lb) and carries herself with that classic collie elegance — tall, lanky, and always ready to go. This energetic girl does well with other dogs and has previously lived successfully with a large-breed female dog. Cookie thrives on activity and would be happiest in a home that enjoys staying busy — walks, hikes, playtime, and mental enrichment will be right up her alley. Cookie is looking for an active family who can match her energy and help her channel it in positive ways. In return, she’ll bring fun, companionship, and plenty of joyful moments into your life. If you’re ready for a lively, intelligent companion to share your adventures, Cookie might be the perfect fit. Her adoption fee is $300, she is spayed, started on her vaccination schedule and microchipped. 👉 Apply to adopt Cookie at www.mjhs.ca Click Adopt → Adoptable Animals and scroll to her sweet face to submit your application.
