Story
Meet Smokey 🐾 Smokey is what we call a work in progress with a really good heart. When we first met him at the shelter, he was completely shut down. Since getting out, he’s been opening up more every day—and now we’re seeing the real Smokey: playful, affectionate, and just the right amount of goofy. He LOVES attention, playtime, and being close to his people. He’ll happily chase toys, play tug, or entertain himself—but his favorite place is right next to you. And yes…those blue eyes are just as stunning in person. Smokey already knows quite a bit—sit, shake, kennel, leave it, and drop it—and he’s both crate trained and potty trained. He’s also very comfortable being handled, brushed, and loved on (his favorite part). Now let’s be real—Smokey still needs some polishing: • Can get mouthy during play (we’re working on it) • Gets excited at doors and may try to rush out • Still learning leash manners Smokey has also shown that he really bonds closely with “his person” and can become protective of them and his space. Because of that, he would do best as the only pet in the home where he doesn’t feel like he has to compete for attention or resources. He’s a sensitive boy who can startle with loud noises, so he’ll need a home that can give him structure, consistency, and clear boundaries. The good stuff? He’s cuddly. He’s loyal. He wants to be a good dog. Smokey is the kind of dog who will give everything to his person—you just have to be willing to guide him there. 💙

Story
Meet Rollie 💛 1–2 years old • 22 lbs • Corgi mix • Neutered male Rollie is a loyal, affectionate little guy with a big personality packed into a short, corgi-shaped body (yes—the ears and the butt are as cute as you’re picturing). He came from a hoarding situation with over 20 dogs and has spent the past few months learning how to be part of a home—and he’s honestly done really well. The good (and there’s a lot of it): Rollie is potty trained, kennel trained, and knows basic commands like sit, off, and wait. In a home, he’s incredibly chill—he loves lounging, following his person around, and soaking up attention. He’s great with other dogs and enjoys having a playful companion. He walks well on leash, rides well in the car, and can even handle outings like patios or hikes without being overwhelmed. Once he bonds to you, he bonds hard. He is deeply loyal and wants to be right by your side. What he needs help with: Rollie can struggle when he feels overwhelmed or when his space isn’t respected—especially in busy or chaotic situations. He has shown some barrier frustration in a kennel setting and can react to unfamiliar people if pushed too quickly. Both of his previous homes shared that he was a dream day-to-day—but situations involving guests or high energy environments were where things fell apart. Because of this, Rollie needs: • A calm, structured home • Clear boundaries and leadership • Slow, intentional introductions to new people • An owner who will advocate for him and not put him in situations he’s not ready for The right fit: Rollie would do best in an adult or teen (13+) home that understands sensitive dogs. He thrives with routine and predictability and does best when he knows what’s expected of him. A confident dog in the home would be a bonus, but not required. He is not the kind of dog who will instantly love every stranger—and that’s okay. In the right home, with the right expectations, Rollie is an incredibly rewarding companion. Bottom line: Rollie isn’t a “take everywhere, love everyone immediately” dog. But he is a loyal, loving, funny, easy-to-live-with dog who will absolutely be someone’s heart dog. He just needs someone willing to meet him where he’s at 💛
