Story
Meet Joy! 🌼
Joy is a beautiful 15-month-old young dog with a heart as golden as her coat. She comes from a remarkable litter of 11 puppies, all with different looks—and even different dads! Her mom, who was also rescued by us, is a Malinois/German Shepherd mix, confirmed by DNA testing.
DNA testing on Joy’s siblings revealed a fascinating mix:
Two pups tested as a balanced blend of Golden Retriever, Husky, German Shepherd, and Malinois
Another pup tested as 50% Australian Shepherd with Malinois/German Shepherd
While Joy hasn’t had her own DNA test, her twin brother was tested, giving us a very clear picture of her mix:
🐾 Joy’s Breed Breakdown (via her twin):
27% Belgian Malinois
26% Golden Retriever
21% Siberian Husky
15% German Shepherd Dog
4% Chow Chow
Looks & Personality
Joy is a large, stunning girl with gorgeous golden cream and apricot coloring that turns heads everywhere she goes. While she can hold her own with even the roughest of her siblings, she truly prefers calmer, more relaxed play. Indoors, Joy is surprisingly mellow and enjoys a peaceful environment just as much as outdoor fun.
Energy & Lifestyle
Joy is an active dog who needs daily exercise and regular activity to stay happy and healthy. She’s always ready to go, but she balances her energy beautifully with a calm, easygoing nature once inside.
Affection & Social Skills
True to her name, Joy is an affectionate sweetheart. She loves pets, belly rubs, and being close to her people. She’s playful, curious, cuddly, and always gentle and loving. Joy would thrive in a home where she can receive plenty of attention and affection.
Other Animals
Joy is friendly with everyone she meets and does well with other dogs. She’s curious about the goats at the rescue but has shown no aggression toward them. She has not yet been tested with cats.
Training & Care
Joy is fully house trained and crate trained, making her an easy transition into a home. She is also vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed—ready to start her next chapter right away.
The Perfect Home for Joy
Joy would be a wonderful fit for a home that can provide daily exercise, a loving environment, and a bit of structure—along with plenty of cuddles. In return, she’ll offer loyalty, calm companionship, and endless affection.
If you’re looking for a loving, balanced, and beautiful companion, Joy may be the perfect addition to your family 🐾💛
