Story
✨ Meet Joey — Hoping for a Home by Christmas ✨ Joey is a sweet 9-year-old gentleman looking for a calm, loving home to call his own. He’s had a lot of changes in his life recently, so he’ll need a little time to decompress — but once he feels safe, he becomes the most loyal, affectionate companion you could hope for. 🏡 Personality & Home Life A total velcro dog who loves to follow his humans everywhere. Cuddling on the couch is his absolute favorite pastime. Fully housebroken and politely asks to go outside by whining. Not a barker, not a chewer, not a digger, and he doesn’t jump on people. Can be left home alone for about 4 hours. Loads nicely into the car and loves car rides. 🐾 Manners & Skills Walks beautifully on a leash. Knows all his commands. Not a door-dasher and sits nicely to greet guests. Does great with other dogs and is very comfortable with cats — he even lets the cat snuggle and lick his head! Doesn’t run in the house and stays out of the trash. Fast eater, so he uses a slow-feeder bowl. 🧸 Likes & Quirks Loves his balls and bones. Enjoys finding “prizes” — but because he prefers to keep them, he needs a calm, adults-only home where exchanges are done gently with tasty treats. Has a funny habit of eating Kleenex; if he gets one, just let him finish it. Does not appreciate having his collar pulled. Instead, clip on a leash and guide him gently. Not a fan of crates due to being boarded for 2 months. ❤️ Health Joey has mild arthritis that’s well-managed with supplements and Carprofen. He gets around comfortably and enjoys his walks. Joey is a gentle soul who has been through a lot and is ready for a peaceful, loving home where he can feel secure again. If you’re looking for a calm, loyal companion who will warm your couch, follow you everywhere, and love you with his whole heart, Joey might be your perfect match. He would truly appreciate a home for Christmas. 🎄🐾

Story
Finn – Ready to Love and Be Loved Hi, I’m Finn! I’m a big, handsome boy—about 100 pounds—with a heart just as oversized as my frame. I’m full of energy, curiosity, and a growing eagerness to learn. I’ve made huge progress in my foster home, and now I’m looking for a forever family who will keep helping me grow with patience, structure, and love. Life wasn’t always easy for me. I came from a home where I didn’t get the socialization or training I needed, and there were young children who didn’t always understand my boundaries. Because of that, I developed some resource-guarding behaviors and got uncomfortable when handled suddenly. But everything has changed since coming to my foster home. With consistent, kind training—led by a veterinarian who specializes in animal behavior—I’ve started to blossom into the affectionate, responsive dog I was meant to be. I’ll do best in a home with kids 14 and older who can respect my space and understand my cues. These days, I walk beautifully on a leash (especially with my Gentle Leader Headcollar), take treats gently, and even enjoy getting pets while I eat. I’ve learned to “Sit” and “Stay” for things I want—sometimes I even sit before I’m asked because I’m trying so hard to be good. I’m crate trained, I love chew-resistant toys, and I’ve adjusted well to the elderly dogs in my foster home. I haven’t met their cats up close yet, but I’m getting less reactive when I see them from a distance. My perfect home would include: Positive-reinforcement training to keep me on the right track Someone willing to stay in touch with my foster family for support during my transition Daily walks and playtime so I can burn off my energy Slow introductions if you have another dog Lots of sturdy chew toys A patient, loving environment where I can keep becoming the best version of myself I’m a quick learner with a goofy streak. I get excited meeting new people and sometimes I get the zoomies, which leads to bouncing around, jumping on furniture, or hopping up to say hi. I’m improving every day—just typical young-dog stuff that I’m working hard to master. I’ve come a long way, and I still have so much love to give. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who’s eager to grow, learn, and share a lifetime of affection, I might be your perfect match. My foster parent, a veterinarian with experience in animal behavior, is happy to help you with my transition and ongoing training. I can’t wait to meet the person or family who sees the good boy I’m becoming.
