Story
Please note that PAHS does NOT do online adoption applications.  You must come to the shelter in person to meet the PAHS pets.Penelope is an 8-month-old female Husky mix who will need to be spayed before adoption. Found as a stray in the county, she’s a true beauty with a light tan coat and white markings. Weighing 42 pounds, she’s a medium-sized pup with a playful, outgoing personality who never meets a stranger. She’s a hit with the other dogs in the play yard, and everyone wants to be her best friend. Penelope is just as great with kids and seems very smart, always observing everything happening around the shelter. If she sticks around much longer at PAHS, she might just start answering the phones herself.Dog/puppy adoption fees are $120.  Cat/kitten adoption fees are $75.  All pets will be spayed/neutered before adoption; or you will be given a discount spay/neuter certificate to be used at participating vet clinics to help with the cost of spay/neuter.  Our adoption fees cover a microchip, microchip registration, deworming, vaccinations (as age and law requires), and a courtesy vet exam at participating offices. Unless otherwise indicated under 'special needs' our dogs have screened heart worm negative.  *****Please note that PAHS does NOT do online adoption applications.  You must come to the shelter in person to meet the PAHS pets.*****May 29, 2026, 8:12 pm

Story
Look at this cute sweet face! Her name is Pudding! She is a husky mix that is a little over a year old! She was rescued by a kind passerby who saw her dodging cars in traffic. After getting Pudding in the car she rode her straight to the shelter. Her rescuer is all too familiar with that particular area, because she has picked up other lost dogs in that same location many times. Unfortunately people tend to drop off unwanted pets in that area! How sad for these pets who are lost and disoriented after their owners have dropped them in an area and then drive away! Pudding is one of the lucky ones! She is at the shelter and has gotten all of her vaccinations, she is heartworm negative, she has a microchip, and she has been spayed. Lets help this girl find a happy ending to her story.
