Story
River is a resilient, affectionate 2–3 year old husky mix who survived abandonment and hardship. She bears faint scars around her neck from being chained, a reminder of a past she’s left behind, but her sweet, loving nature has never been broken. She gets very excited when meeting new people and can be a bit overwhelming at first, so she will need guidance to be calmer—but she is not an overly energetic husky and loves quiet, affectionate moments once she settles. River has a strong personality and likes to be the “boss” with other dogs. She may resource-guard at mealtime and will overeat if given the chance, so strict supervision is needed, and she is used to eating in a crate. She doesn’t try to escape her yard but may slip past open doors or gates and scratches to let you know when she needs out. Not yet spayed but will be before adoption, River is ready for a patient, experienced home where her loyalty, affection, and spirited personality can finally shine.

Story
Bobbi is a 1-year-old Husky/Aussie mix (docked tail) seeking a very patient person. Found abandoned with deep trauma, Bobbi is a "work in progress" who needs an owner experienced with fearful dogs. She is extremely shy and currently does not enjoy being touched. While she has progressed to taking treats and licking hands, she still looks scared when petted, even during her quiet evening routine. She is looking for a home that will respect her boundaries and love her for her presence rather than physical affection. She thrives being indoors near her people but panics when restrained by a leash. Bobbi is a talented escape artist who can dig or climb out of most yards though she usually just wants back in. Due to severe confinement anxiety, she cannot be kenneled and needs a very secure environment. She gets along with most dogs but will try to chase cats. She needs an empathetic soul who understands that trust takes time. Bobbi offers the quiet devotion of a dog who just wants to belong.

Story
Meet Chili, a resilient 4-5 year old Husky mix. Found starving and dangerously ill with a muzzle full of deeply embedded, infected porcupine quills, Chili is a true survivor. He has overcome three surgeries, bouncing back from 60lbs to a healthy 80lbs.Chili needs a Husky-experienced owner. While he is a total people-lover who thrives indoors with his pack, he can be skittish when reached for—likely a remnant of his rough past. He is not a typical escape artist and is content in a kennel, though he may "vocalize" his feelings briefly before settling down.He coexists with indoor cats used to energetic dogs, but his high prey drive means no chickens or outdoor cats. He prefers dog friends smaller than himself and will resource-guard around other pups (though never with people).Recently neutered, he is still working on indoor manners, but with a patient leader who understands his quirks, Chili will be an incredibly loyal, brave companion.

Story
MEET ASHTON (ASH)💙 Ash is a young Siberian Husky/Boston Terrier mix (according to the DNA results), about 10 months old, with lots of energy who loves to play. He’s a smart boy who learns quickly, though he can be a little stubborn at times. Ash is crate trained at night and does fairly well in the crate during the day. He is food motivated and making great progress with house training. Because of past trauma and being very underweight when found, he can show some resource guarding, so separate feeding is needed. Ash’s Ideal Adoptive Home • Cats— he’s curious and likes to chase • Larger dogs are fine; small dogs may be overwhelmed by his energy • Separate feeding required • Loves being with his people and may do playful nipping when excited (typical Border Collie behavior) • Needs an active home with a fenced yard so he has room to run and play. Ash is a fun, energetic pup who will thrive with structure, activity, and love.

Story
INTRODUCING VIXEY 🐾 Vixey is a sweet, fun-loving Siberian Husky looking for a patient, understanding home through PAWS Rescue, Inc. She needs a home that will continue showing her she’s safe and doesn’t have to fend for herself anymore. She’s about 1.5 years old and around 38 lbs—small in size, big in personality. Despite typical husky worries, Vixey has been an absolute joy in her foster home. She’s well-mannered, affectionate once comfortable, and loves sunbathing, squeaky balls, fish skins, bully sticks, and collagen rolls (she even saves some for later!). A 6-foot fenced yard is required for safety, even though she’s never tried to escape. Vixey truly thrives with other dogs and needs a dog companion in her forever home. She does best with dogs her size or larger, preferably a non-dominant male (a non-dominant female may also be considered). She looks to other dogs for confidence and comfort and enjoys playing with them. She may softly growl if another dog tries to take her treats, so a home that understands canine boundaries is important. Because of her past, Vixey can be shy at first and may keep her distance. She has never shown aggression toward people and works through new or stressful situations with reassurance, treats, and love (sometimes with a little husky-style protest). She’s kennel trained and is learning that being inside is safe—another dog helps her feel confident indoors. A dog door is preferred but not required. Vixey does best with teenagers and adults; younger children are an unknown. She can be startled by fast movements or loud noises and may seek a safe spot until she feels secure. Once trust is built, her playful and loving personality really shines. She enjoys walks on leash, after she is settled and comfortable with the family. DECOMPRESSION TIME IS A MUST! Vixey is a special girl who just needs the right home to continue blossoming. With patience, structure, and a canine buddy, she will make a wonderful, loyal companion. 💙🐕
