🐾 THE TALE OF FONZY 🐾
---------------------------------------------
Once upon a time, there was a puppy that everyone wanted. He was all white with the cutest ears around and had the cutest little black spot on his face. He loved everything and everyone, and he was soon welcomed home.
At first, things were great, and the puppy thought he had found his forever family. As the puppy started to grow, he became more playful. He expected more of his family and much like puppies do...got into things when they didn't pay attention to him. His family decided that the responsibility was just too much. He was fun to have around when he was a cute and small fluffball...but now...now they didn't want him anymore. One day it was decided that they would load him up into the car, and in the middle of traffic, they tossed him out of the car and drove off.
The poor puppy was so confused and scared. He tried chasing after his family but was almost hit by a car and ended up retreating back into the grass. Thankfully, a good samaritan had witnessed what happened and stopped and picked the puppy up. He had some scrapes on him and a hurt paw. The lady that had picked him up nursed him back to health and then reached out for help in placing him. A couple days later, the pup began his new leash on life. He was given the name Fonzy and was adopted in September of 2022 and he lived happily ever after...........or so we had hoped.
Fonzy is many things. He is playful, he is silly, and he can be a talker. The one thing he is not though is a fan of cats. Despite his former family's attempts, Fonzy was not able to coexist with cats peacefully and ended up being returned. His family was devastated but some things just are not meant to be.
Fonzy is the kind of dog that you cannot help but fall in love with. He has such an amazing personality! He is very affectionate and loves to be close to his people. He would be super excited to go on adventures and would make an excellent playmate for just about anyone. He isn't a major cuddler quite yet, but he doesn't hesitate to ask for pets and give kisses. The way he acts with his fosters daughter (five years old) also just brings a huge smile to their face. He will follow her around the house and play with her any chance he gets. He's also super smart and will talk to you when he's hungry or excited about going outside.
Fonzy is good with other dogs and is very playful with them. He will definitely have to have another doggie playmate in his new home, he would be so crushed if he didn't have anyone to play with. Plus, it is an excellent way to help get his energy out! Fonzy is currently being fostered around a five-year-old. He's knocked her over once or twice, but she wasn't hurt either time. He does like to play though and is still a puppy, so might be a bit too playful for the really young tykes.
Fonzy is a go-everywhere with you kind of dog. He loves road trips, and is totally that cliche dog that will stick his head out the window! Fonzy has been to a few public outings with his foster family and has done well. He is a big fan of people and is always eager to make new friends. He isn't much of a jumper either! He will jump up when he sees someone sometimes, but not often. Fonzy can be a little hesitant around unfamiliar dogs at first, but he warms up quickly. Fonzy adores toys. All the toys! He will shift from one toy to another because he can't decide which one he wants to play with. Fonzy is very active and somewhat restless at times. He does love to curl up next to you on the couch and sleep, but it can take him a while to decide where to lay down at. He likes to explore and move toys around. Fonzy would love going on adventures, walks, and hikes with his new family. He is also just as happy being home with his people. Fonzy would probably favor the more adventurous lifestyle, but if his new family kept him well-stimulated at home we could also see him doing just fine as a homebody.
Fonzy would probably do well in an apartment setting as long as his new family were active enough. Fonzy isn't a lazy couch potato though, so when we say active we mean several walks, hikes, runs, trips to the dog parks, etc...not just a walk here and there. ;) Fonzy is potty trained so you won't have to worry about the dreaded potty training with him! Fonzy is kennel trained, but he is not a fan of it. So, a home that didn't kennel or at least wouldn't kennel him for long hours at a time is preferred. So far, he does not seem to be a destructive chewer. He will go for children's stuffed toys, but he hasn't tried to chew on any shoes or furniture while he's been with his foster family. Given his age, we do still recommend puppy-proofing just in case though. Fonzy will bark some when he is outside and when he is playing with other dogs, but he isn't a very big barker. However, he can be very talkative in that typical husky way when he wants to be!
Fonzy would be happiest in a more active home with another playful dog. He has a lot of energy, so will definitely need a family that can keep up with this silly and playful boy! Once his energy is out though, he is perfectly content to just chill out with a toy or cuddle with his people.
