Story
Meet Kennebec Potato, better known as Ken. Ken is a 2-year-old, 44-lb white Husky mix with a big personality and even bigger energy to match. True to his Husky roots, he’s an active, curious guy who loves staying busy and would thrive with an adopter ready to keep him both physically and mentally engaged. Ken is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and already knows the command “sit.” He’s very food-motivated, which makes him a great candidate for continued training and learning new skills. He’s a smart boy who enjoys working for tasty rewards! Because of his energy level, Ken would do best in a home with older kids who can help channel his enthusiasm in a positive way. With the right introduction and match, he may do okay with another dog, especially one that can keep up with his playful style. If you’re looking for an adventurous, fun-loving companion who’s ready to learn and go places with you, Kennebec Potato might just be the perfect fit. Come meet Ken and see if he’s your spud-tacular match! Since many of our adoptable dogs are in foster homes, appointments are highly recommended to ensure the animal you are interested in is currently at the shelter. Please call or e-mail the shelter to set up an appointment to meet and adopt! Our adoption fees include the following: all of our dogs/puppies are current on vaccinations (DHPP and Rabies if over 3 months of age) at the point of adoption, dewormed, heartworm tested and current on preventative, microchipped, treated for fleas/ticks and are spayed or neutered. Our large dog adoption fee is generally $175 + tax. Our small dog and puppy adoption fee is generally $300+ tax. Adoption fees may vary in special circumstances. Due to space limitations, we do not hold dogs. Because we are on a busy street, we require that all dogs leaving the shelter be in a carrier or on leash. All pets remain up for adoption until an approved application is processed and their adoption fee paid.

Story
Nyla is a big puppy at heart — a Husky mix who’s dog-friendly and ready for a permanent home where she can finally settle in. She can be a little aloof at first, but give her a bit of time and she warms up quickly, showing her gentle, easygoing side. If you’re looking for a young, friendly dog who just needs a little patience and consistency, Nyla could be the perfect fit.

Story
Taz is very food motivated. He loves walks, sprinting, chewing bones, playing with balls and tug-a-war. He loves attention when he is in the mood. His kennel is his safe place when he is not in the mood for affection. We always keep it available and open and he often chooses it. Taz is stubborn, but very loving when he chooses his person. Taz is not an outdoor dog. He enjoys being outdoors for a little bit, but not all day. He is as I call, ‘A couch prince’ he is an air conditioning, central heat kind of boy. Taz needs someone who has plenty of time for him. He cannot be in a closed kennel during the days. He needs someone home most of the time. He needs a tall, fenced in yard, walks, and plenty of belly rubs. He is high energy! He does OK with young kids. Older or no children preferred. He will take time to adjust. He has separation anxiety and has been with us for 6 years. We are only rehoming to give him what he deserves, which is not something we can currently provide.
