Story
Meet Froyo — a swirl of tan fluff, muscle, and pure chaos energy topped with a pair of striking blue eyes that could melt an iceberg. Underneath all that go-go-go energy is a seriously affectionate boy who loves his people with his whole heart. Once he’s burned off some of that husky fuel with a good walk, play session, or backyard sprint, he’s happy to hang close and soak up attention. Expect dramatic facial expressions, happy wiggles, and plenty of comedic moments — Froyo is equal parts athlete and entertainer. He’d do best in an active home that’s ready for adventure, enrichment, and a little husky sass. If you’re looking for a running partner, hiking buddy, or a best friend who brings the party wherever he goes, this blue-eyed goofball is ready to swirl into your life. Since many of our adoptable dogs are in foster homes, appointments are highly recommended to ensure the animal you are interested in is currently at the shelter. Please call or e-mail the shelter to set up an appointment to meet and adopt! Our adoption fees include the following: all of our dogs/puppies are current on vaccinations (DHPP and Rabies if over 3 months of age) at the point of adoption, dewormed, heartworm tested and current on preventative, microchipped, treated for fleas/ticks and are spayed or neutered. Our large dog adoption fee is generally $175 + tax. Our small dog and puppy adoption fee is generally $300+ tax. Adoption fees may vary in special circumstances. Due to space limitations, we do not hold dogs. Because we are on a busy street, we require that all dogs leaving the shelter be in a carrier or on leash. All pets remain up for adoption until an approved application is processed and their adoption fee paid.

Story
Hi there! My name is Hannah, I am a super cute, ~ 3 year old German Shepherd - Husky mixed dog, looking for my fur-ever home! I came to HHS with a bit of anxiety and social deprivation, but after the gals here showed me all the treats & love they have to offer, I was smitten! I absolutely love treats, and I am getting healthier & happier by the day! I love showing people my goofy personality, and I have already learned many tricks (I'll do anything for a snack!). I have lived happily with other dogs but never met any cats. I would do best in a high-energy environment where I can regularly exercise and have a steady routine. I can be timid when I meet new people, but once you show me that I can trust you, I'll be the best friend you've ever had! If I sound like a good fit for you, come meet me today. I am waiting for you at HHS!

Story
Taz is very food motivated. He loves walks, sprinting, chewing bones, playing with balls and tug-a-war. He loves attention when he is in the mood. His kennel is his safe place when he is not in the mood for affection. Taz is stubborn, but very loving when he chooses his person. Taz is not an outdoor dog. He enjoys being outdoors for a little bit, but not all day. Taz is well trained and a great dog. He just has some quirks. He absolutely cannot be around other dogs. Taz currently is free roaming most of the day, but chooses to spend the majority of his day in his open kennel. Taz needs a tall, fenced in yard and walks. He is high energy and very good at jumping gates. He does OK with young kids. He prefers older kids. He will take time to adjust. He has separation anxiety and has been with us for 6 years. We are only rehoming to give him what he deserves, which is not something we can currently provide. Taz comes with all his things including leashes, kennel, toys, beds

Story
🐾 Approximately 8-12 month old Neutered Male Mixed Breed approximately 40-45 pounds. He appears to be a stocky medium sized guy with our best guesses of breed as Shepherd/Husky type mix. 🐾 He’s great with other dogs and enjoys hanging out and playing. He loves to wrestle laying down with others. 🐾 Marshmellow is reactive to cats and should have a home without them. 🐾 Marshmellow loves people but is shy and unsure when first meeting. He warms up quickly and is glad to call you a friend! Marsh is more comfortable with children, but he needs to remember not to jump (and he’s improving everyday). 🐾 Kennel trained and mostly house trained Marshmellow arrived to rescue along with 1 of his other siblings (Sweet Potato) from a South Dakota Reservation, saved from euthanasia. Marshmellow is working hard on learning basic obedience commands and working on leash walking skills. He has a higher energy level and enjoys a good walk and play session, but he mellows out nicely and enjoys a good cuddle session. Marshmellow has been vet checked, is up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, heartworm tested negative, neutered, and current on his flea/tick/heartworm/deworming preventatives. Marshmellow’s adoption donation fee is $300.00
