Story
Wib is a gentle, loving dog who came to us with little experience in the outside world. While he’s still learning to navigate new sights, sounds, and experiences, he’s showing small, heartwarming signs of bravery every day.Wib has learned to build some trust with the staff here at PAWS, but he’ll need a patient, understanding home where he can take things at his own pace. With gentle guidance, reassurance, and plenty of love, he has the potential to blossom into a loyal, affectionate companion who will cherish every moment with his family. He is goofy, talkative, curious, and CUTE! If you have the heart to move slowly, celebrate the little victories, and show a shy soul the meaning of safety and love, Wib could be your perfect match. Please apply to adopt at: http://www.pawsgh.org

Story
Maple’s young life has already been filled with far too much uncertainty. Her mom and litter siblings were originally dumped and left living outside before they were rescued and brought in. While the rest of her family found homes, we were heartbroken to learn that Maple had been brought into another shelter as a “stray" just a few weeks ago. Sadly, her adopter had rehomed her, and Maple once again found herself abandoned and displaced. With two dump situations and multiple transitions in just ten months of life, it’s no surprise that the world can feel overwhelming to her sometimes. Even so, Maple continues trying her best every single day.At just 10 months old, Maple is still trying to figure out this big, overwhelming world around her. Made up of several working breeds, she’s incredibly intelligent, full of energy, and constantly searching for direction—but underneath all of that is a young dog who simply wants to feel safe, understood, and loved.Maple can be timid when faced with new experiences and will need a patient, committed home willing to help her work through her fears at her own pace. When she gets excited, her playful side bursts out in full force. She loves to play, though she doesn’t quite understand how big she is yet and can be a little rough with humans while having fun. We’re helping her learn better manners and appropriate ways to channel all of her enthusiasm.Maple will need training, structure, guidance, and someone truly dedicated to helping her grow into the dog she’s meant to be. Herding breed experience is highly encouraged, as her nippy tendencies and working-dog instincts could easily turn into unwanted behaviors without proper leadership and consistency. But Maple is worth the effort. Beneath her uncertainty and busy mind is a dog with endless potential—a loyal companion just waiting for someone to believe in her. She needs a home willing to see past the rough edges, celebrate the small victories, and help her discover that the world doesn’t have to be so scary after all. Please apply to adopt at: http://www.pawsgh.org

Story
GRAHAM is a 2 year old, neutered, 4 year old, 40 lbs., Siberian Husky that came into the Orange County shelter on 01/04/2026 after he was reportedly seen being dropped off near the fire station in Silverado Canyon. The caller stated that he and his wife witnessed a vehicle abandon a Siberian Husky from a vehicle in Silverado Canyon approximately 10 minutes ago. He stated that he observed the silhouette of a person remove the dog from the passenger side of a mid-sized sedan on the turnout near the Forest Fire Station. The vehicle then drove away. GRAHAM was impounded by an Animal Control Officer who used a catch pole because he was growling. At the shelter, GRAHAM was initially scared and growling, but within a few days staff was able to leash him and remove him from his kennel. Shelter Staff Notes: * 01/13/2026: eager to come out of kennel; attempted to door dash. Eventually able to leash with no issues. Dog walked out easily, sniffed various bushes and engaged with environment. Did not look at me or come towards me despite offering treats * 01/14/2026 Easy to remove from kennel today, no issues with door dashing. Non-reactive to other dogs, hackles up when passing by very reactive dogs but otherwise did well. * 01/15/2026 Easy to leash, wide eyes, walked out nicely. Let roam around, able to pet with no issues. Walked him around the shelter, does not pull, walks nicely on leash. When putting back in kennel and taking leash off, his eyes became wide, and body was stiff. I slowly took leash off and once it was off, he did a little jump. * 01/21/2026 Easy to leash, non-reactive towards other dogs when passing by. Walked around the big open yard. Sniffed around, took treats. * 01/23/2026 Easy to leash and pull from kennel. Does well on leash. No pulling & no reactivity towards other dogs while passing by kennels in building. ##2655194##

We adopted this wonderful dog a few months ago. No behavioral problems; just an intolerant HOA that won't permit him. He doesn't even bark. He's very calm and friendly. He's done well with our two cats. He's friendly and curious about them. Lorax is house trained.

Story
Schooner wandered onto the rescue property early this year. He got along fine with the ranch dogs and made himself at home. He was shy at first until he knew he was safe. Schooner is a lover. Just sweet as he can be. And he loves to run! And run! And run! He is absolutely gorgeous all stretched out in a full run around the property. Unfortunately he lost that privilege when he started killing the resident chickens! So no chickens or small to medium farm animals. It is simply husky nature to hunt so he's just doing what is natural. He does so so on a leash. Rides great in a car. Gives hugs. He is eager to please and would love a home and family of his own who will teach him all the good stuff about being a family. Apply at www.krrtx.org/forms Please note all dogs are located in San Antonio, TX. We advertise out of state due to the critical pet overpopulation problem here in the south. We use Your Texas Rescue Connection to transport the dogs to your area. They are all up to date and come with a health certificate. The fee is $180 adoption and $200 transportation = $380. Thank you for considering adopting a southern dog.

Story
~DOB: 5/1/2020 Weight: 50lbs Energy level: Moderate Overall drive: Low Location: Lodi, CA Stella is a woo woo woo wooer! She loves who she does & woo’s as she feels is fitting to announce herself. She loves to put her head in your lap for pets, will follow you around but she’s not clingy. If she were human, Stella would be a children's book author. Her most famous work, Oh The Places You’ll Woo, points out all the spots an adventurous Husky lady can announce herself in, and hit the New York Times bestseller list in no time flat. Stella is a bouncy little lady who takes a bit to warm up to new people. She has preferred women to men but has made friends with several men given time, space, and understanding. She loves to go on walks, do a few yard zoomies & just hang out with her people. Stella is her foster mom’s personal assistant in the office & will hang out for hours providing moral support while she is working. While she will play & engage with the other dogs, she really prefers to just hang out & chill. She hasn’t done a lot of outside the home travel but has been fine with the vet interactions. Stella tends to be standoffish with strangers in general but will greet visitors to the house & will jump up on those she deems friends. She’s warmed up to both house sitters and did well in boarding for a week while her foster parents were out of town. She now recognizes the woman who she boarded with & absolutely loves her! Stella is non-reactive on leash but can be pushy with other dogs so proper introductions & a chill housemate would be her jam. She's currently living with 3 other dogs of similar size or larger who are very laid back. Her play style is very submissive with the resident dogs & additional foster. She does grumble at them about personal space issues, but none of them care so it’s not an issue. Stella is fully potty, crate, and dog door trained. She will 100% counter surf to the best of her stubby little legs ability and the garbage can is super fun! She has mastered her basic commands, is working on more skills, and only requires simple verbal correction. Stella is looking for a calm, chaos and child-free home with few visitors to call her own. She would do fine with another low-key neutral dog or 2 and truly wants nothing more than to lounge on the couch and be in the same room as her person. A few snuggles paired with a walk or play in the yard and even a food puzzle would totally satisfy her. If you are looking for a low maintenance, travel sized gal to document your adventures as she collects content for her next book, then look no further than Stella.
