Story
Bruno, a Jack Russell/Chihuahua mix, wandered sinto a family’s yard and though very shy at first, he gradually warmed up to them. They took care of him and tried to find his owners, but they could not keep him. In the meantime, their little girl called him Bruno, and it stuck. Treated for heartworm and doing well, this little 16-pound guy may be about 4 years old but he’s still as spunky as a pup. The possible JRT mix may have something to do with that because he’s quite a character! Sometimes he “sings”, hops like a jumping bean and sucks on his blanket when he’s ready to settle in for a nap. He likes all people, including kids, but would probably prefer to be an only dog. Bruno would be an entertaining companion for an older person or couple because he really likes getting all of the attention. By the way, the family and their little girl still stay in touch with Bruno and are keeping their fingers crossed he will have his own family soon.  (1/15/24, RM) **It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. ** Adoption: $395 which covers quarantine, shots, worming, medical records, spaying/neutering, microchip and an Alabama State Health Certificate.   Transport, if needed  $160   We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip . Story
Sweet Pea and Cory are 5 months old and adorable!  Although we think they're sister and brother, we see a different mix in each. Both are Jack Russell Terrier mixes but we also see Rat Terrier in Sweet Pea and Jack Russell and Beagle in Cory! Different dads?  What we know for sure is that they both have great personalities. They’re good with other dogs, kids and their foster’s cat.   They’re good looking, too, in their short coats of white and tan. Although they both weigh between 18 and 20 pounds now, in puppyhood, they’ll mature to between 40 and 45 pounds.  Sweet Pea and Cory!  What fine pups!  (posted 1/19/24, TN)  **It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. ** Adoption: $395 which covers quarantine, shots, worming, medical records, spaying/neutering, microchip and an Alabama State Health Certificate.   Transport, if needed  $160   We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip . Story
Meet brothers Nick and Sparks, and their sisters, Ava and Tinsel.  A 3 ½ month old litter of Jack Russell and Basenji, their personalities are sweet, playful, and sometimes a bit goofy.  They get along well with other dogs as well as cats, making them the perfect addition to a household with other pets.  And not only do these babies have great personalities, but they’re also good-looking pups as well. Presently weighing between 7 and 12 pounds, we envision an adult weight of 25 pounds or so.  Add their short coats of tan and white, and you have wonderful pooches to adopt!  How about it? Story
The very handsome Eddie is a little shy and cautious at first but warms up once he knows he’s safe. He will then become 100% loyal, snuggling up and asking for belly rubs. His 27 lb., medium coat, tricolored markings, and tendency to “herd” his foster’s dogs suggest a mix of JRT and Australian Shepherd. He is very observant and will sit with his human to survey his surroundings. About a year old, this smart boy is house trained, can sit and fetch and would likely make a good working farm/cattle dog. He would be a wonderful family addition as he gets along with other dogs, but because likes to “herd” and is protective of his people, he may do better with older children. We are sure that once you meet Eddie, you are certain to fall in love!  (RM, 4/30/24)     **It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. ** Adoption: $395 which covers quarantine, shots, worming, medical records, spaying/neutering, microchip and an Alabama State Health Certificate.   Transport, if needed  $160   We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip .
