Hi there! My name is Dobby, and here is some info you need to know about me:Breed: Jack Russell terrierAge: 4 yearsGender: maleWeight: 10 kg  Height: 35 cmHighlights: sweet, friendly, cuddly, playful Hi, I’m Dobby—Can You Be My Forever?  I don’t remember what it feels like to be safe. For as long as I can remember, I was tied to a pole on a busy street, watching life pass me by.https://youtube.com/shorts/Vo1V75r5Zfo?si=Mn9Ya2r3FtagCSCW   The people who kept me didn’t love me. They barely even saw me. I was just… there. Through the burning summers and the freezing winters, I stayed in the same spot, waiting for something—anything—to change.   I don’t know how I survived. Some days, I thought I wouldn’t. But somehow, I held on.Then, one day, my life did change. Someone saw me. Really saw me. Now, I’m safe. I have food, a warm place to sleep, and people who treat me gently. But I’m still waiting. I’m waiting for a home where I’ll never again wonder if I’m wanted.I love people, even after everything I’ve been through. I'm even sweet and calm when I go to the vet!https://youtube.com/shorts/NE9oIiJ45Wo?si=nTsRnUGohAjWwRWt   I love dogs too! They teach me how to play, how to trust. But cats? Well… let’s just say I like to chase them a little too much.  I’m coming to Canada soon, hoping to find the family I’ve never had. I don’t need much—just love, kindness, and a promise that I’ll never be forgotten again.  Could that family be yours? I’ve been waiting my whole life for someone like you. Energy level: moderate Prey Drive: I like to chase cats, but it is mostly to play with them. I will need patience to get used to my new environment. gets along with:     Other dogs: yesCats: no   kids: yes Fears: none observed, however, I will need patience to get used to my new environment Training: someLeash training: I walk well on leash.  https://youtube.com/shorts/Q6ceJv7FEpA?si=DDf8o_QhgO0kw0HFHouse trained: I will need patient training Health notes: I have been neutered, vaccinated, and Microchipped. My adoption fee is 800.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes transportation to Canada, if accompanied by a fight volunteer directly to Vancouver.  Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. [MID-EAST] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East. [TURKEY] *Dogs receive 4D SNAP tests - which include: Heartworm, Ehrlichiosis, Leishmania and Anaplasmosis. ##2355984##

Story
Hi, my name is ALVIN and I would love to find my forever home! Let me tell you a bit about me... I am a Jack Russell/Spitz cross, I am approximately 5 yrs old and I weigh 19 kgs (42 lbs), I live in Greater Vancouver, and I love adventures in the forest with my humans. I am currently with my new foster but I was previously with my rescuer (I'm originally from the Middle East) but she had to move elsewhere and couldn't take me with her even though she wished she could. As a result, I am with my current foster, looking for a new adopter. I have been a Canadian for about 3 years, living with a couple of other dogs and even a cat for a while. My rescuer was actually planning on adopting me but life changes have meant that she can't follow through with that idea despite her deep love for me (and mine for her). Given my breed, I can be a bit of a bossy guy but with a calm and confident human, I am your most loyal and loving family member. I'm social with most dogs I pass by on walks (although I do get energetic about wanting to play with some of them). My past has caused me to have some initial hesitations with some humans but I am incredibly bonded with my human pack so whisper a few kind words in my direction and I'm all yours! I just love kind words from humans!! Like many dogs, I just need a patient adopter who is gentle in helping me to adjust to my new home and neighbourhood.  I have even learned to love a cat (amazing, eh?!) and he and I had some playful moments. I was so happy to give him a play bow and, even though he didn't really play like a dog, we both seemed to enjoy each other's company.  Given my sensitive nature, I am best living in a house with a yard but I might be able to get used to apartment living. I wouldn't be a good fit with children or young teens but another dog would be nice, especially a social and gentle female. As for adults, I don't have any specific fears except that I appreciate an adopter who can, at the right time, "whisper sweet nothings in my ear" (as my current foster puts it) rather than stating growly commands at me. Those sweet words will help me to be the very best dog I can be while, at the same time, helping me to have a sense of limits and appropriate behaviours. I truly want to please my humans as well as to cuddle, act goofy, and generally be your bestie.  If you would like to meet me, I would certainly like to meet you! Please just fill out an adoption application for me and, presto, we can meet!! I am immunized, neutered, and microchipped.  My adoption fee is $750 plus taxes. Training: basicLeash skills: Please be prepared to further train me.House trained: Yes  I have been neuetered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Hi there. In my language, Abnabat means candy. And I am a pup with a delicious personality. You can call me Nabat as a nickname.Life hasn’t always been sweet for me though. I was abandoned during the war in the Middle East. Left all alone at just one year old, I didn’t understand why. I kept hoping someone kind would find me. And an amazing rescuer did.I’m a wee sprite with a big smile and an even bigger heart. I may be small, but I have so much love inside me. I’m simply full of energy and exude happiness!People say I’m very friendly and funny. I love cuddling, playing, and being close to humans. If you sit down, I’ll curl right up beside you. If you want to play, I’ll be the silliest little dog to make you laugh. I’m also clever, smart enough to pick up training fast, but still goofy enough to keep life joyful. Being curious lends to my charm and my ability to learn quickly. I'm pretty obedient too, as I like to please you.Now I’m dreaming of a forever home, a place where I can finally belong. I promise to bring sweetness wherever I go, just like my name.Would you like to be my family and let me be your candy? (BONDED WITH CEREAL)My name is SOLSTICE (Lixia) and here is a little info about me:Breed: Terrier/Pekinese mixAge: 7 yearsGender: maleWeight: 13 lbsHeight: 8 inchesCountry of origin: ChinaHighlight(s): affectionate, cleanly, independent, gentle, quiet, obedient While independent, I also love affection. Since cleanliness is a big thing of mine, you can be assured you'll be snuggling a clean pup. My Chinese name, Lixia, means the beginning of Summer in my language. Quite appropriate, wouldn't you say? As I will bring sunshine into your life.A person who lives in the neighborhood of where we were found as strays saw us. Over the past four years, we were witnessed living together, relying on occasional leftover food from neighbors. This person always felt sorry for us, but lacked the means, ability, and courage to rescue us, all the while feeling guilty and helpless. Earlier this year, this lovely person noticed our condition deteriorating. We were navigating busy streets, scavenging from trash cans, and drinking dirty water mixed with food scraps and garbage. Our fur started getting matted and falling out, and I developed a bloody eye growth.Determined to save us, our overseeing angel posted our situation on social media. A rescuer  saw the plea and decided to help rescue us. We were transported to a nearby hospital for checkups and treatment. We were both severely malnourished and had poor coat conditions. We were properly treated and I underwent surgery for my eye problem. After treatment, we were discharged. Now our rescuer has taken us back to her town for foster care, until we can find a home together. I have been shaved down to treat my skin and remove all the mats. No worries, it will grow back for new photos later. It was discovered I have hypothyroidism and am on Euthyrox medication for it. I was checked for Cushing's, but that was negative. My most recent vet visit showed my hypothyroidism levels are back to normal, but continued monitoring is necessary, as it may be a lifelong condition. I have lost a few teeth and had dental tartar, but recently had a cleaning. I underwent eye surgery and needs regular eye drops to prevent dry eye. The vet confirmed my health is up to par at this time otherwise.I am well-behaved on a leash. Though I can get anxious if I feel too much separation from my people and quickly try to catch up. I am a sweet dog with an excellent temperament. I even willingly wear clothes. Good for those cold Canadian winters.Gentle and quiet is how my rescuer describes me. I am also an obedient pupper. I will line up patiently to wait for food too.My friend Xiaoman and I must be adopted together, as we are pretty bonded after surviving the streets together. We would likely adapt to most any home. We get along with other dogs, though we haven't been introduced to cats. Story
My name is Koko and here is a little info about me:Breed: Terrier mixAge: 3 YearsGender: maleWeight: 12 kg/26lbsCountry of origin: Middle EastHighlight(s): sweet, playful, gentle, friendly, calm Once upon a time, life wasn’t very kind. A small balcony in southern Tehran was the only world I knew. The person who was supposed to care for me didn’t like me much. The balcony was cold in winter, hot in summer, and sometimes hands that should have been gentle were not. I remember barking and crying, hoping someone would hear. One day, kind voices finally did. Neighbors had been listening to my cries, and soon some rescuers came. They spoke softly, and for the first time, I felt safe. They had to buy my freedom, because no one could stop my person from hurting me. It didn’t matter how — I was free. After that, everything changed. I met a new family who took me home. There were warm beds, tasty treats, and long walks. For two whole years, I was loved. I thought I had finally found forever. Then one day, everything changed again. The lady of the house was having a baby, and her mother said I couldn’t stay. Just like that, I was sent back. At first, I didn’t understand. I waited by the door, hoping someone would come back for me. But time — and gentle hands — helped me heal. Slowly, my tail started wagging again, and my heart opened up to the world once more. These days, life feels brighter. I’m gentle and calm around women, friendly with men and kids, and I get along well with other dogs. Cats? Haven’t met one yet, so the jury’s still out on that! I’m not a chewer, I don’t guard my toys or food, and I only bark when there’s a loud noise or a stray dog nearby. Car rides make me happy — windows down, nose out, the world flying by! I’m comfortable traveling in a crate, even on flights . Sometimes, I get a little sad when my people leave, but that’s only because love runs deep Now, at three years old and about 12 kilos, I’m ready for a new beginning. My dream is simple: a forever home filled with kindness, patience, and love. Someone to walk with, nap beside, and never say goodbye again. I’ve been waiting for that kind of love — the forever kind.
