Story
THIS POST WILL BE REMOVED WHEN THE DOG IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE. INQUIRIES ABOUT THE ADOPTION STATUS WILL NOT BE RETURNED. "Mama pajama rolled out of bed and she ran to the police station. When the Papa found out he began to shout and started the investigation...." Julio, a 9 month old JRT has changed his ways, LOL! No more "house of detention" for him! Seriously folks, Julio is a good boy and can't wait to find an active person or family who can share his love and keep him physically and mentally challenged. This breed is a small "working" dog who, if not kept busy will find things to do to keep themselves busy, which may not always align with your wishes or the well-being of your household furnishings. He is a happy, friendly, active boy who LOVES to explore the fenced back yard and romp with his canine foster siblings. Julio would be ok as an "only" dog but would also love a doggy companion. He is somewhat crate trained but would prefer sleeping in your bed, and is currently enrolled in HOUSE TRAINING 101 to brush up his skills. Neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations, Julio is ready to move on to his forever home! Fenced yard an absolute must and kids over the age of 10 would be fine. The suggested adoption donation for Julio is a minimum of $600 and goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our rescue dogs.Wag N Train Terrier Rescue adopts to an extended geographical area as long as we can locate a local volunteer to perform the required home visit. Approved adopters are required to travel to Omaha, NE to pick up their newly adopted dog. We do not arrange transport, or fly our rescue dogs without a "pet nanny". All of our dogs that come from a commercial breeding facility require a securely fenced yard AND a resident companion dog, unless the dog's bio states otherwise. Please note, invisible or underground fencing is not considered secure or appropriate containment. Adoption applications can be found at www.wagntrainterrierrescue.com/adoption-information

Story
Dexter is a young Jack Russell Terrier (born 2024) who likes to run and catch balls.  Dexter is housebroken and crate trained, but he doesn't enjoy it and will try to get out.  He's in good health and really enjoys being active.  Dexter is an energtic little guy and he needs someone that can match his energy level. The perfect home for Dexter would be with someone who is patient, willing to play with him and provide proper training for him.  He needs some basic training to learn obedience and boundaries.  He likes to chew on things, but that goes along with his age since he's just over one year old.  He's kind of vocal and will let you know how he feels about something by barking.  He barks at people and other animals, but when he gets closer, he is usually wiggling his tale with happiness. The suggested adoption donation for Dexter is $400, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training). Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees.   Please Note: A Courtesy Post designates that an animal is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster. This means that our exposure to the animal is limited since we only assist the owner in finding a new home for their pet. From time to time, owners find a new furever home for their pets outside of Muddy Paws Last Chance Rescue, and there is a delay in removing them from our site. We apologize if the Courtesy Post you apply to adopt is unavailable for adoption.   Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.   To learn about Muddy Paws Last Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue Inc.   Alter Agreement: If the dog or cat you adopt is older than 6 months of age and not spayed or neutered, you will receive a voucher to alter the pet at Val Verde Animal Hospital or Omaha Animal Medical Group in Omaha, at no cost to you. Or you can alter the pet at your own vet and be reimbursed $100 for dogs, and $50 for cats, of total cost. If the dog or cat is younger than 6 months of age, the adopter will be responsible for the cost of altering the pet at the vet of their choice. If proof of alter is received by Muddy Paws prior to the pet turning 6 months of age, a reimbursement of $100 for dogs, and $50 for cats, will be sent to you to help cover expenses. All puppies and kittens MUST be spayed or neutered by 6 months of age. All dogs and cats MUST be spayed or neutered no later than one month after adoption is finalized.   ##2599296##

Story
Jack is a Jack Russell mix, born 2018.  He's a mature gentleman and knows what he likes.  He LOVES to cuddle and is definitely a lap dog.  He is very food motivated.  Jack likes to jump very high so he needs to have a 6 ft fence, otherwise he's able to get over the fence.  He also loves to chase squirrels - if your front door is open, he will run out!  He loves to go on walks and is always very excited when it's time to go.  Jack is leash trained, crate trained and housebroken. Jack would do well in a home with one person because he tends to resource guard people.  He will try and nip someone if they get too close to the person he is sitting on.  When he is by himself with a person, he will sleep and cuddle and is generally a very calm dog.  He would NOT do well in a home with children because of his tendency to be protective.  Jack does really well with one person because there's a lot less stress for him.  Muddy Paws has trainers available to help with this so that Jack and the potential adopter can feel more comfortable. If you're looking for an older guy that is past the puppy stage, Jack just might be the one for you! The suggested adoption donation for Jack is $350, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE.
