Meet Rapunzel, lovingly known as “Rae.” Rae is a 4-month-old, 17 lb female Terrier/Chihuahua mix with the sweetest soul and a face that is always smiling. No matter what she’s doing, playing, cuddling, or following her people around, Rae always looks happy. When fully grown, she is expected to be under 25lbs.Rae is incredibly affectionate and people-focused. She loves cuddling, giving kisses, and following her humans from room to room. If you’re looking for a best friend who wants to truly be part of your everyday life, Rae is your girl. She is potty trained, she will go to the door when she needs to go outside, and she is also crate trained. She sleeps in her crate all night with no accidents or whining. Rae is smart and eager to learn. She knows basic commands like sit, down, place and we are working on her leash walking skills (those definitely need more work) She gets along great with other dogs, cats, and kids. Rae is already spayed, microchipped, and fully vaccinated. She’s being fostered with dogs, cats, and teenage kids and gets along wonderfully with everyone. She would also do great in a home with another playful dog since she loves to play, but we can definitely discuss other options if there are neighborhood dogs or family dogs she could regularly play with. She loves to run and jump, so a secure 6-foot fenced yard would be ideal for her to get her energy out. She is currently doing great with our invisible fence and learned that very quickly, so would be great for someone who has that if they didn't have a fenced in yard.  She’s surprisingly athletic for her size and can easily clear shorter baby gates when she’s determined to be near her people, so supervision is important.  She may give a few excited barks when greeting her people. If you’re looking for a happy, affectionate pup with a constant smile and a heart full of love, Rae could be the perfect addition to your family. Kelvin (6/2/25) was born on St Thomas in conditions that were less than adequate for newborn pups. Kelvin is a classic “coconut retriever” JRT/terrier mix. Mom and Dad are both around 35 pounds. Kelvin has come out of his shell and is doing wonderful in this foster home. He loves being with other pups, is learning housebreaking skills and leash walking and loves toys! He is scheduled for his next set of vaccines and neutering.
