Story
Ella, born approximately 8/29/2020, is a breathtaking sight to behold and a force to be reckoned with! This petite, striking Turkish Van/Bobtail princess has the snowiest white coat with a couple of patches of brown tabby on her head and hip, and the softest, emerald, almond-shaped eyes! She also has the most adorable little brown tabby bobtail nub. Ella is going to need a very special adopter who will understand her TV breed and allow her the independence she desires. Hela is not a cuddly cat-she does cutesy things to get your attention, but spends most of her time to herself. Hela was adopted from us in 2023 as a kitten named Beyza. She was returned in March 2025, renamed Hela, due to no fault of her own. She is VERY inquisitive, curious, active, mischievous and too smart for her own good. As most Turkish Van breeds go, she loves to perch up high (on tops of shelves, second story banisters, and can even balance herself on top of doors if given the chance) and she loves to play in water. She will need a stimulating environment that keeps her busy little brain and body occupied or she tries to give you a piece of her mind through acting out behaviors that include biting. She actually uses her mouth/teeth more than her paws to initiate play and during playtime-this can be corrected with consistent, behavior modification training. For this reason, we are not sure how she would do around children. She will tolerate co-existing with other cats as long as they respect her-she pays them no mind. She loves to bond herself to a human companion and expects them to bow to her every demand. She constantly wants to play and will interact with you for hours as long as there is a toy involved. Once she does bond with you, she does enjoy being near you. She just needs someone who will be patient with her and understand her needs in order for her to thrive in a forever family. Ella isn’t your “easy” kitty. She’s your worth it kitty. She is a gorgeous 6 year-old Manx with the most adorable rump—you’d swear she was a round-bottomed bunny rabbit if you looked at her from behind. She comes with a few chapters already written—an autoimmune condition referred to as “pillow foot,” a prescription urinary diet to keep painful bladder stones at bay, and yes… a little kitty Prozac to help steady her beautifully complex mind. It’s a lot. We won’t pretend it’s not. But here’s the part you don’t see on a medical chart: When Ella trusts you, she gives you everything. We’re talking full-time lap cat. Shadow-with-whiskers. The kind of soul who melts into you like she’s been waiting her whole life to feel safe—and maybe she has. Ella doesn’t need perfection. She needs patience. She needs someone who sees past the “extra” and recognizes the extraordinary. Right now, she needs a miracle. A foster home willing to say: “You’re safe here. I’ve got you.” And in return? You get a love that is deep, devoted, and unwavering—because cats like Ella don’t give their hearts lightly… but when they do, it’s forever. She has been returned to our program once after a years-long adoption because she couldn’t accept a new human baby, now for a second time. If you’ve ever believed in second (or third) chances, in underdogs, in love that requires a little more but gives back tenfold—Ella is waiting for you. Adopting from Sheets Pet Adoption is simple!
