Story
Looks like: Maltese mix Female, 8 years old (estimated), 13 pounds Dottie is a very gentle and mellow little lady who will immediately invite anyone she meets to give her belly rubs or pick her up. And who could ever resist petting her silky and beautiful coat? Her natural black lipstick is probably one of her most adorable features, along with her serious snoring and wild REM dreams. In spite of her blindness, she navigates her surroundings amazingly well, although she needs a bit of a guiding hand on slow leashed walks in unknown territory. This sweet girl gets excited when she catches a whiff of another dog nearby, then follows her nose to go sniffing for them. She can be a bit clumsy and may accidentally bump into other dogs, sometimes to the surprise of all involved. She does not have any known experience with small children and would prefer to live in a calm and predictable household. Miss Dottie has tons of joy and love to share and is looking for human companions who will make her golden years extra special and are understanding of her needs. She would like you to know that car rides make her pretty nervous and being left home alone makes her anxious. She would love to find someone who is equally content spending lots of quality snuggle time at home, would enjoy toddling around the yard together, or going for slow strolls in the surrounding neighborhood. This 13+ pound nugget needs to get picked up and carried around a bit and she would also appreciate continued potty-training. Her foster family likes to brush her luxurious curls every day and, above all, just love her to pieces. Dottie came to us from Hollister Animal Services so that she could get the medical care she needs.

Story
Looks like: Lhasa Apso mix Female, 12 years old (estimated), 19 pounds Lilly is proof that age is just a number and that you can maintain the most beautiful and fluffy curls even if you are super inquisitive and adventurous. This gorgeous Lady loves to be out and about, explore, and go on long walks, taking her time to sniff and smell the latest "pee-mail." She walks nicely on leash and is friendly with humans of all ages and dogs of all sizes. At her foster home, she chases the cat and may be better off in a feline-free home. Most of all, this laid-back girl relishes snoozing on the couch and doing her own thing, interspersed with occasional pets and cuddles. When home alone, she is well-behaved and waits patiently for her company to return. Lilly is very smart, gentle, and confident, and will easily adjust to new circumstances and adventures. Miss Lilly is fully house-trained, but she needs to eat a special diet to help with urinary care and, although she loves food, she is limited in what she is allowed to eat. With only a couple of teeth left, she eats soft food only. This sweetheart is eager to join you on explorations and car rides, and be your faithful companion all day, every day! Lilly was surrendered to Santa Cruz County Animal Services because of her medical needs that need a little extra TLC.

Story
Looks like: Maltese, Poodle Mix Male, 14 years old (estimated), 19 pounds Buddy Boy is looking for his forever pal. Could that be you? Buddy is a gentle senior fellow who is a little hard of hearing and starting to lose his eye sight, but if you lay a blanket or towel down on the couch, he will see that as his spot and is ready to cuddle up and nap the day away! Buddy does great around other dogs and has lived with many canine companions over the years. He used to live with a cat as well. He has also lived with children, but in his senior years, he prefers a quieter home and would love to find someone with whom he can share a peaceful retirement. He loves riding in the car and gets short spurts of zoomies, running around with his soft toys! Buddy can be quite nervous in new situations and meeting new people, so slow and gentle greetings are a must. But he loves people! Once he's met you and gotten some snuggles, you're in his circle! He'll follow you around asking for pets and will even paw at you for attention. Sadly, Buddy Boy's senior guardian recently passed away after being together for the past 14 years. He came to POMDR to find his next cuddle buddy.
