ATTENTION:  All of our dogs are in private foster homes.  We do NOT have a kennel with multiple dogs.  If you find a dog you want to meet in person, please go to and complete an application.    We will make every attempt to process all applications within 3 business days of receipt. // // Introducing Nolan!  Nolan is a 7-month-old, 20 pound poodle/maltese mix. He is a sweet puppy who has a lot of puppy energy! Nolan loves his rope toys and belly rubs. He requires about a 40 minute walk each morning.  He is potty trained and is good at letting you know when he needs to go out. Nolan sleeps in a crate and is very treat-motivated. He takes a bit of time to warm up to his human, but once he does, he is a very sweet and lovable boy. Nolan would do best with an experienced owner and in a home without small children.  Nolan would also do best in a home with another pup to play with and help with his confidence. Can you give him the very best home? He is neutered, microchipped and current on his vaccinations.  His adoption fee is $350.  A refundable training deposit of $100 will be also due upon adoption. Training must be provided in a timely fashion to ensure our pups become the best canine citizens. The training deposit will be refundable within 3 months of the adoption date. All Second Chance Dog Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, are up to date on vaccines and have microchips prior to adoption.   Adoption fees vary depending on age of dog. Fees help Second Chance Dog Rescue cover spay/neuter costs,   vaccinations, medical treatments, food and supplies. Please go to  and complete an application today!    All dogs live in private foster homes until they are adopted.  February 29, 2024, 8:07 pm

Maltese Maltese

Female, Young
San Diego, CA
(when grown) Small 25 lbs (11 kg) or less
Good with kids, Good with dogs, Good with cats, Spayed or Neutered,
Friendly and loving! Hola amigas! My name is Josefina, and I’m a 1.5-year-old Maltese, female, weighing in at nine pounds.  I found myself without a home, due to no fault of my own. My Mom was very ill and needed to be hospitalized, so a kind family member has taken me in while I have been waiting to find my furever home! I’m a super loving and friendly girl who gets along with doggies, kitties, and kiddos alike.  I have lots of energy and really love to be out and about.  My favorite activities include taking walks outside, being pet all day long, and getting endless attention.  Let’s see, what else? I am working on my potty-training skills and am currently pad-trained.  I am spayed and my health is in tip-top shape.  I think I’d do best in an active home since I have so much energy.  My only other requirement is that my family gives me plenty of love each day! I show mild signs of separation anxiety when left behind, but I think I’d do fine on my own during the day for short periods of time. Do we sound like two peas in a pod? My adoption fee is $700 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip.  If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here: ##1917939##
