DOB: 5/6/23                                  Current Weight(as of 5/9/24): 10 Lbs. Adoption Fee: $325  includes 2 week trial to ensure everyone's happiness. AVAILABLE 5/18/24 Jesse and his 2 brothers were released by a breeder when she was unable to find them homes. All three are in Furry Kids' foster homes and doing great! Jesse is an adorable little guy.  Initially very shy and skittish but has come a long way! He now loves to take treats from his Foster Mom and even sleeps on her bed at night. He has been dong great with housebreaking but is definitely not 100% yet. He has just started having interest in toys and can be a little selfish when he gets a hold of one.  He loves racing around the yard with the other dogs and pretends to play fetch, he mostly just likes to see what the others are running after. Jesse doesn't like to be crated and will protest and fuss. He definitely wants to be a part of the group and doesn't like being left out. He will sing when it is dinner time with a soft almost yodel like sound. Jesse does not walk on a leash yet. He would definitely do best with a fenced yard. Recently Jesse's brother Julian came to spend the weekend and they had so much fun together!   https://youtube.com/shorts/PL6X_lHe0t4?si=Gw56iCF1EHwViOm5 Puppies are NOT housebroken and should not be expected to wait more than 1 hour for each month of age to go out to potty. Please make sure that you have a “potty plan” in place if considering adoption. All of our puppies have been spay/neuter, wormed, microchipped, and given age appropriate vaccinations. If you are interested in meeting/adopting one of them just fill out a application at www.furrykidsrefuge.org, click on the 'Adopt A Dog' icon and a dedicated volunteer will be in touch.  Furry Kids' Refuge is in need of good quality dog and puppy food with meat as the first ingredient.  You can drop off donations at our weekly adoption events at the Lee's Summit Petco (1860 NW Chipman Road, Lee's Summit, MO), Saturdays only from 11am to 2:00 p.m.  Donations are tax deductible as allowed by law.  Would you like to foster a Furry Kid? Furry Kids' Refuge will supply the food & vet care while you supply the basic house rules & love.......win-win for all!!  Just visit our website http://www.furrykidsrefuge.org/category/fostering/  for more information. Thanks for your support! All three are in Furry Kids' foster homes and doing great!  Julian is a sweetheart!  His number one move is to flop over on his back to get a belly rub! He is head shy still. He has been dong great with housebreaking but is definitely not 100% yet. He does like toys but he guards them from other dogs.  He absolutely loves going outside to run and play. Story
Approx. DOB: 8/9/17                Approx. Weight: 9 LBS Adoption Fee: $250 includes a 2 week trial to ensure everyone's happiness! June Bug is a very sweet girl. She's a Japanese Chin who is 7 years old. She came from a breeder. She was very shy and scared but she is doing great! When she was spay the vet said she has a grade 2 or 3 heart murmur. She went back to get it rechecked and our vet started her on a low dose of Pimobendan (1.25mg - 2x daily). She is doing great on potty training but not fond of her kennel. She gets along with my other foster and my personal dog. She loves to do the praying paws and she's very good at it. She is starting to have interest in toys. Junebug does not walk on a leash so a fenced yard is preferred for her to safely potty & play. I have been spayed, vaccinated, heartworm tested negative and microchipped and had a dental.  If you are interested in adopting me, please complete the adoption application located at www.furrykidsrefuge.org/adoptadog and a dedicated volunteer will get back to you as soon as possible. He was very, very shy when he first went to his foster home, and it took about a week before he would let his foster Mom pet him or give him a treat. He now comes to her for pets but is still a bit skittish with fast movements or loud noises. Jackson is enjoying pets from other humans that he has just met. He is very treat motivated – loves his treats now! For a while he did not want to have anything to do with the foster dogs, but now he plays very well with them. Sometimes he instigates play. He is now good when introduced to new dogs and it does not take long for him to want to play with them.  He is crate trained and sleeps through the night.  He knows to go outside to do his business and sometimes will tell his foster mom when he wants to go out. He can be very vocal. He loves playing outside and running around. He is a fast little runner! He is working on his leash skills. He comes most of the time when you call his name or mention treat. Did I mention that he is very treat motivated?! He should have a fenced in backyard because he really likes to explore and run round. Being a breeder release, he probably was never out of a kennel. He will probably also need more time to get used to a leash. Jackson will need some time to get used to his new surroundings, but he will be an awesome pet for that special person or family.  Puppies are NOT housebroken and should not be expected to wait more than 1 hour for each month of age to go out to potty.
