Story
Hi! My name is Remi and here is a little more about me : My JourneyI was rescued as a kitten in Tijuana and adopted from Smittens in 2024. After a year and a half, I was returned to Smittens in early October 2025 (not my fault!) and has since been settling into a loving foster home. During this time, I was treated for a corneal ulcer in his left eye, which has now fully healed. I`m now feeling great and ready to start the next chapter of my life in a forever home.My Social LifeOther cats: I’m curious and interested in other cats, though I haven’t had full interaction yet due to my recent recovery.Dogs: I’m not sure yet—I may need slow, gentle introductions.Kids: I previously lived in a home with four children, and I may be happier in a quieter environment. My PersonalityFriendly, curious, cuddly, and wonderfully purry. I settled into my foster home quickly—while I was a bit anxious at first, I relaxed by the next day and have been confident and content ever since. I handle eye medications and vet visits like a champ, showing how adaptable and trusting I can be.I Enjoy…Curling up on laps for long petting sessionsHead, neck, and even gentle belly rubsSleeping in my soft, warm kitty bed or lounging in my hammockChasing small balls and tossing feather or stuffed toysExploring cozy hiding spots like under blanketsPerching on higher spots such as the back of the couch or countersI’m Not a Fan Of…Canned tuna-flavored food (hard pass!)What Makes Me SpecialI’m a chatty boy who responds to conversation with the cutest chirps and trills. When you pick me up, I melt into your arms like a jelly-filled pillow. I’m one of the cuddliest cats you’ll ever meet—and even when I’m feeling playful and chasey, I’m incredibly gentle and never bite.My Perfect HomeI’m the perfect balance of playful and snuggly. I love exploring and playing, but I’m just as happy curling up on your lap, making biscuits, and taking a nap. I’m very social with my people and enjoy following them around the house, being part of daily life. A calm, loving home where I can feel secure would help me thrive. My Special NeedsI have a suspected history of feline herpesvirus, with a recent corneal ulcer in my left eye that has fully resolved with treatment. This condition is generally manageable, but stress can sometimes trigger flare-ups. My adopter should be comfortable monitoring my eyes
