Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. *This animal is a part of our “Seniors for Seniors” program where we offer senior adopters an opportunity to adopt an eligible pet at a discounted fee.* Jojo is a very calm, quiet senior cat who has been through a lot in her life and is working on trusting people again. When she was surrendered, she was very underweight. She had several diseased teeth removed and has been eating well since her dental procedure. It was mentioned that she was bullied by other cats and dogs in her previous home, and because Jojo is declawed, she has no way to defend herself. This has made her very nervous around other animals and people. She isn’t currently seeking out affection from her fosters, but given enough time to feel safe and space of her own, she will regain her confidence and learn to love again.   I just joined my foster family and we are still getting acquainted with one another. Once they learn more about me, they will add more information here! JoJo is from a local shelter. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about Ruff Start’s adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our How to Adopt page. If you are unable to adopt but want to help this animal and others in our care, you can donate to support the medical and veterinary needs of all Ruff Start Rescue animals.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 4, 2025, 11:44 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. My siblings and I were born to a feral mom. Some nice people took us in when we were 5 weeks old to give us a better life. People were really scary for me, but I'm feeling more comfortable each day. I may still need someone to take it slow with me, but since I'm so young, it shouldn't be too difficult. Want to meet me? Fill out an application and my foster will contact you. Located in Spring Lake Park and ready to go after June 25th. Poe is from a stray surrender. We highly recommend you consider bringing home two instead of one! Adopting kittens in pairs has been proven to be beneficial for cats’ emotional and behavioral well-being and greatly improves the likelihood of long-term adopter happiness as a result. Adopting more than one kitten also reduces the risk of “Single Kitten Syndrome” (also known as Tarzan Syndrome), a symptom of under-socialization during a kitten’s most formative weeks. Kittens who are under-socialized may develop aggressive tendencies toward both other animals and humans as they grow, creating lifelong behavioral issues for owners.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 3, 2025, 12:42 pm
