Story
Hi, I’m Madeleine! Here is a little info about me: Breed: Jindo mixAge: 1 yearGender: Female    Weight: 36 lb Highlight(s): Good with other dogs, happy, playful I’m a sweet, shy little pup with a big heart and a hopeful spirit. Last January, I ended up in a city pound with my three siblings. We were just tiny babies—around two months old—and sadly, our mama wasn’t with us. We waited and waited for someone to choose us, but no one came. After two long months, when time was almost up, a kind rescue saved us from euthanasia. Now I’m living in a foster home with my siblings, learning all about how wonderful life can be. I’m still a bit unsure around new people and situations, but I’m trying my best every day. When I start to trust you, I’ll let you pick me up and snuggle me. I’m still getting used to the outside world—cars, walks, and new places can feel overwhelming, and I often tuck my tail or freeze when I’m scared. My foster mom is gently helping me gain confidence, one little step at a time. Even though I’m a bit shy, I love playing with my doggy siblings. Other dogs make me feel happy and safe, and I’m very respectful and friendly with them. I even spent time with a few cats and didn’t bother them at all! I’m still in my puppy phase, so I’ve got lots of energy at home—I zoom, I play, I nap, and repeat. I’ve never shown any aggression or guarding behavior, and I don’t bark much at all. I’m also not an escape artist or particularly anxious when left alone. I do get a little nervous in the car, and I’m still working on house training and walking confidently on a leash. But hey, I’m a work in progress, and I’m learning more every day! If you have a calm, patient home (maybe with another friendly dog?), I think we could be a perfect match. All I need is time, love, and a gentle hand to help me grow into the brave, happy dog I know I can be. Love, Madeleine I get along with:Dogs: YesCats: YesKids: Unsure Energy level: High as I'm still in my puppyhood Fears: Still nervous about outer world . Please be patient assisting me in my transition.Leash skills: Yes. Please be prepared to continue training.House trained: In training. Please be paitient and prepare to assist me learn where to go in my new home. Health notes: I have been spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. My adoption fee is $800.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems. Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. ##2366767##

Hi there, I’m Whisky Let me tell you a little about myself. Breed: Jindo mixAge: 6 MonthsGender: Male    Weight: 29 lb (Still growing) Height: 17 inchesHighlight(s): Good with other dogs, affectionate, social I spent a few months roaming the streets, and even though no one came looking for me, I never lost my friendly spirit. When we first meet, I might be a tiny bit shy, but give me a moment and I’ll open up quickly. Once I trust you, I’m all about affection — I’m happy to be petted and I don’t mind being picked up either. I’m still in my puppyhood, so I’ve got lots of energy and a big love for adventure. Walks are one of my favorite things! I follow my handler nicely and I love sniffing and exploring the world around me. I’m polite on leash and not reactive to other dogs — I really try to be a good boy. Speaking of dogs… I am SUPER social! For the past two months, I’ve been living with over 30 dogs, playing all day long. I’m playful, energetic, and love a good wrestle, but I also have great manners when meeting new dog friends. I’ve never shown aggression and I don’t guard my food or toys from people or dogs. Kids don’t bother me either — I’ve calmly walked past an elementary school without any issues. I’ve even met a cat! I was curious, but gentle. Right now, I’m still working on a few things. I can get anxious when left alone and may bark or whistle, but I don’t try to escape. I’m about 90% house-trained, I don’t get carsick, and I’m eager to keep learning with the right family. If you’re looking for a loving, playful, social pup who’s ready to explore life by your side, I might just be your guy. Story
Hi there! My name is Sonny—named after the legendary Korean soccer player, Heung-min Son!  Breed: Jindo MixAge: 5 years oldGender: MaleWeight: 51 lbs (23 kg)Height: 20 inches (51 cm)Country of Origin: South KoreaEnergy Level: Moderate (medium or medium-low)Highlights: Sweet, affectionate, friendly, well-behaved, smart, and a big face (LOL)!   My Story I’m a wonder boy from South Korea with an incredible story to share. I was rescued from a high-kill shelter—on the very last day. Want to hear how I made it out? https://www.youtube.com/shorts/BtM2gUdHVuY I come from a rural area, nestled deep in the mountains. I survived in the shelter there for two long years. Then, on a scorching summer day in 2025, the shelter issued a euthanasia notice for 40 dogs—and I was one of them. Volunteers did everything they could to spread the word and seek help. http://www.youtube.com/shorts/HpeehQr-aGE That’s when a miracle happened. Kind-hearted rescuers, connected with LALDR, stepped in just in time and saved me. They thought I reminded them of their previous rescues (and adopted through LALDR). There’s no record of my past or family, but my rescuers quickly realized how special I am. I even held my pee and poo in the crate during the first long drive—like a true gentleman! Because I sometimes scrunch up when I’m scared, they think I may have been tied up or mistreated before I entered into the shelter. But don’t worry—I don’t show any signs of trauma. http://www.youtube.com/shorts/6M-Z-YCV-co My Personality I’m a very gentle, smart http://youtube.com/shorts/LdAdnHzgjiw?feature=share, and affectionate boy, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ILjoDtlT7w with what my rescuers call a naturally bright and cheerful spirit. http://youtube.com/shorts/kph9U3QXjDU?feature=share  http://youtube.com/shorts/-3yAh_DkWT4?feature=share https://youtube.com/shorts/ukj30DgsvGY?feature=share  I absolutely love people and get along wonderfully with other dogs and even with cats! (I have lived with a cat at the previous foster home for two months!) http://youtube.com/shorts/MsCQZMhQDN8 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zANi1B8WfyI http://youtube.com/shorts/b5DuAzv8wq8  https://www.youtube.com/shorts/8W8RI05iJys   I never bark, and I’m perfectly house-trained. I even enjoy bath time! https://youtube.com/shorts/dqHZ_2ZBzyc?feature=share https://youtube.com/shorts/TjB0nm2UMq4?feature=share When I first came indoors, everything was new to me, but I’m a quick learner and quickly picked up on what my humans wanted. Within just a few days, I settled right into household life and became completely comfortable at home. My foster says he has never met such a gentle and intelligent dog, and that I'm the perfect partner for people. At home,  I’m calm and easygoing, but I’m always ready for a nice walk or an outdoor adventure.  http://www.youtube.com/shorts/NHPGn0d_gVs  https://youtube.com/shorts/exLCExq3Xks Riding in the car is no problem for me either! https://youtube.com/shorts/iOuuVh_BdHA https://youtu.be/6I4QIb8Qklg I truly enjoy the company of people and going on walks with those I love. https://youtu.be/FQjwgYBEFlk  https://youtube.com/shorts/CME2j5HCbLY?feature=share   My Health I’m in excellent health, and my vet even says I might be younger than five! (I underwent a full veterinary screening when I was neutered and have been under good medical care ever since. In addition, my rescuers will provide all of my medical records upon adoption.)  Now, I’m staying at the foster home and patiently waiting to find my forever family. If you give me your love, I promise I’ll return it a thousandfold. Let’s write a beautiful new chapter together! My Compatibility I get along with:Dogs: Yes!Cats: Yes! http://youtube.com/shorts/1fohg5ufQ2Y?feature=share https://youtube.com/shorts/4sTzUhvAw6Q?feature=shareKids: Not sure yet.Training:Leash-trained: Yes – I walk very nicely with people, though I sometimes pull the leash a bit if something suddenly startles me. House-trained: Yes – I’m naturally house-trained and never have accidents indoors.Health Notes: I am neutered, fully vaccinated, and microchipped. My adoption fee is $750.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. Hi there! My name is Inky — a sweet, gentle pup looking for my forever family Breed: Jindo MixAge: 7 MonthsGender: Male    Weight: 24 lb (still growing)Highlight(s): Good with other dogs, rarely barks, no escape tendency I may be a little shy when we first meet, but give me a few treats (yum!) and a bit of time, and you’ll see my true self — a loving, playful boy who adores cuddles and belly rubs. For about a month, I lived in a foster home with two kids — one in elementary school and the other in high school — along with my buddy Dudley. I loved it! I get so happy when I see kids that I start to jump with excitement (oops — I’m working on that!). Now I’m staying in another foster home with a 6-month-old Jindo mix, and we’re having lots of fun together. I get along really well with other dogs — big or small! I’m polite, gentle, and love to make new friends. If another dog gets cranky, I just walk away. I’m a peaceful guy who believes in harmony, not drama. I’ve met cats, too — they kind of scare me, so I keep my distance. But birds? Now those I like to chase when I’m on walks! Speaking of walks — I love going out to explore! I follow my handler nicely, but sometimes I get so excited that I pull a bit. Don’t worry, I’m learning. I have a moderate energy level for a pup — active enough for adventures, but calm enough to snuggle afterward. I don’t guard my food or toys, I rarely bark, and I’ve never shown aggression or separation anxiety. I’m about 90% housetrained, and I’m working hard on the last 10%! The only thing I’m not a big fan of yet is car rides — they make me nervous and I can get carsick. My foster family helps by lifting me into the car, and I’m hoping I’ll get used to it with time and patience. When I’m crated, I might whine a bit — I just prefer being close to my people. If you’re looking for a gentle, kind-hearted pup who loves people, dogs, and peaceful vibes, I think we could be perfect for each other. Hi there! My name is Muffin, and I’m looking for my forever home. Breed: Jindo mixAge: 1 yearGender: Female    Weight: 38 lb Highlight(s): Good with other dogs, affectionate, social I may be a little shy at first, but once I feel safe, I’ll open up my heart to you. I’m just a young 1 year old pup now, and I’ve already been through quite a bit. I came into the city pound last January with my three siblings—without our mama. No one came to adopt me for two whole months, and I was getting close to being out of time… but then, a kind rescue stepped in and saved me! Now, I’m living in a foster home with my brothers and sister (including my sweet sis, S’more!) where I’m learning what it means to be a dog in this big, exciting world. It's a little scary sometimes—but I’m trying really hard and making progress every day. Things I’m great at: Playing with other dogs—especially my siblings! I LOVE playtime. Being gentle around cats (I spent a few days with some and didn’t even bark!). Staying calm and quiet—yep, I rarely bark! Not guarding my toys or food—I’m happy to share. Being adorable… obviously. ‍ Things I’m still learning: How to walk confidently on a leash. Right now, I sometimes get scared and might freeze or lie down flat. But I’m working on it with my foster mom and getting braver! Potty training—it’s a work in progress. Car rides—they still make me a little nervous. I don’t have separation anxiety, and I’m not an escape artist. I just want a patient, kind family who will help me grow into the confident, happy dog I’m meant to be.
