Story
Yuel is a 1-year 6-month-old female Samoyed-Jindo mix, weighing 15 kg. At just six months old, Yuel was placed on the euthanasia list at a city shelter along with her sibling, Samuel. Thankfully, they were both rescued, and she is now staying at our training center, slowly regaining her trust in people and desperately hoping to start a new life with her forever family. Yuel’s personality is very gentle and non-aggressive. However, due to her traumatic past, she tends to be wary of strangers and takes time to warm up to new people. When she first arrived at our training center, she was very shy, but after a few days, she gradually opened up and revealed her naturally sweet and affectionate personality. Because she does not easily approach unfamiliar people and will require ample time and patience to adjust, extra care should be taken during walks to prevent any escape attempts, and household entryways should be securely managed until she fully bonds with her new family. Like a typical Jindo mix, Yuel has an independent streak. However, she also strongly exhibits the Samoyed’s affectionate nature and responsiveness to human connection. Once she builds trust, she expresses deep affection. Yuel gets along well with other dogs and has formed a particularly strong bond with her sibling, Samuel. Since they have spent so much time together, she may experience separation anxiety if they are apart, and this should be considered when adopting. She currently goes outside for bathroom breaks three times a day and enjoys running freely with her canine friends in the exercise yard. However, during the adjustment period in a new home, occasional accidents may occur. Once she settles in, she should quickly adapt to an outdoor potty routine again. It is recommended to start taking her on walks only after she has bonded with her new family. Due to her Jindo mix heritage, she has a strong homing instinct. If she is suddenly taken far away or travels by plane, she may become confused and instinctively try to find her way back home. To prevent this, walks should only begin after she fully recognizes her adopter as family. Even then, a double leash or harness is essential for safety. Yuel still carries emotional scars from her traumatic past and may be shy and cautious at first. However, for those that are willing to endure that initial period and patiently wait for her trust, Yuel will become the most loyal and loving lifelong companion.

Story
Noah is a 1.5-year-old mixed breed dog, likely a Jindo mix, with an adorable pattern resembling white socks on one paw and a patch of white fur on his chest. He was abandoned at a shelter as a puppy and was rescued when he was about one year old. After a life in the shelter, he is now enjoying the play and freedom he was deprived of during his early months. Noah loves interacting with people and enjoys playing around with them. He is friendly and gets along well with other dogs, especially those whose personalities match his own. He is a foodie, with a great love for eating. Currently, he’s learning basic commands like ‘sit’ and ‘lie down’, and being quick to pick them up thanks to his intelligence. Noah enjoys walks and, as a young dog, is full of curiosity and energy. However, after enough outdoor activities and playtime, he is happy to rest and relax indoors. He especially loves running and playing in the park or spending quality time with his owner. As a male dog, Noah may mark his territory in new environments, but this behavior is expected to decrease as he becomes more familiar with his space and feels secure. Given his high energy and love for outdoor activities, Noah thrives in an environment that provides ample playtime and walks. With proper training and consistent bonding, he will grow into a loyal and devoted companion.

Story
**Note: Dalie is currently in Korea, but she will fly to Vancouver on Jan 19 upon adoption. Background Dalie spent her early life chained outside a rural home, used as a guard dog. When she gave birth to seven puppies, it became clear that the environment was not safe for her or her babies. Thankfully, the owner agreed to surrender them, and we were able to bring the whole little family to safety. She has been living at our partner boarding house ever since, surrounded by other dogs who have helped her feel safe again. Personality and Socialization Dalie has a calm medium energy level and gentle nature. She gets along well with other dogs, especially those who are quiet and polite like she is. She prefers to observe rather than play rough, and she keeps her distance from dogs that are overly pushy or high energy. With people, Dalie is very sweet and trusting. Even when she had her puppies, she allowed staff to handle them. She enjoys soft attention and simply being near her humans. Since arriving at the shelter, she has been loving with everyone she meets and appreciates a peaceful hangout. Behaviours Dalie has been easy from day one. She never causes trouble and avoids conflict. Car rides are still new to her, but she has handled them surprisingly well. She is relaxed for baths, brushing, nail trims, and vet visits. She enjoys going for walks and spending calm time outdoors. She prefers to potty outside. So far she has shown no separation anxiety, no destructive habits, and no concerning behaviors. She truly is a gentle and mellow soul. Health and Diet Dalie is spayed and up to date with her vaccines. She is dewormed and on regular parasite prevention. She eats kibble without issues and has shown no signs of allergies. She is healthy and ready to go home. Ideal Home Dalie is a sweet, smart, easygoing girl who will make a wonderful companion. She still has some learning to do, but her soft and eager to please personality makes things easier. She would be a good match for almost any family looking for a loving companion. A home where someone is around often would suit her best, as she enjoys company and quiet together time. ------------------------- For more info about the dog or the adoption application, please follow the link below. https://www.freekoreandogs.org/dog/dalie-2/

Story
Velvet is ready for her flight home to Vancouver 🇨🇦 Background: Velvet was rescued this past summer from a city pound in Milyang, Korea during our Save 100 Dogs campaign. Since then, she has been staying at our boarding house where she lives peacefully with other dogs. Personality and Socialization: Velvet is a gentle and loving girl with a soft nature. Her energy level is moderate, and she gets along beautifully with dogs of all sizes. With people, she is warm, affectionate, and friendly. She may be a little shy at first, but she opens up quickly, especially with treats. She enjoys being close, soaks up attention, and is always happy to curl up beside you. She has not been around cats. Behaviour: Velvet does well with car rides, grooming, and bath time. She is not fully at ease yet, but she will be patient and allow her human to take care of her. She enjoys her walks and, although she can get a little curious about her surroundings, she follows her humans without trouble. Velvet has been quiet, sweet, friendly and attentive. She uses indoor pee pads when needed but also does her business outdoors. Health and Diet: Velvet has received full veterinary care. She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and on regular parasite prevention. She eats dry kibble and has no known allergies or special food requirements. When she was first rescued, she tested positive for Hepatozoon from a tick bite, but she completed her treatment and is now healthy and ready for her forever home. Ideal Home: Velvet is an easygoing and very affectionate dog. She would enjoy having another gentle dog companion, but she would also be happy as the only dog if her family works from home or is retired and able to spend plenty of time with her. She is a sweet and loving girl, and anyone who brings her home will be very fortunate. Bring her home through link below: https://www.freekoreandogs.org/dog/velvet/

Story
**Note: Lotto is in his foster home in Coqitlam, BC. Background Lotto was rescued from the streets of Suwon, Korea last fall. After spending a few peaceful months in a loving foster home, he moved to our boarding house, where he lived happily with other dogs until he left Korea. Currently, he lives in a foster home with another dog in Coquitlam, BC. Personality & Socialization Lotto is truly a gem. He’s gentle, friendly, and respectful to everyone, whether it’s dogs or people. With calm dogs, he’s polite and relaxed. With playful ones, he happily joins in for zoomies and a bit of friendly wrestling. He adjusts beautifully to the energy around him. When it comes to people, Lotto is just as charming. He’s quiet, obedient, and very smart. He reads the room well and knows how to settle when things are calm. Volunteers always adore him. He’s often their favorite. Behaviour Lotto is quiet indoors and rarely barks. He’s not destructive and knows how to rest peacefully when it’s time to relax. He prefers doing his business outside but will use indoor pads if needed. Lotto is a champ at the vet, during baths, and on car rides. He also walks nicely on a leash. In new places, he may feel a little unsure at first, but he looks to his trusted person for guidance and quickly finds his comfort. Health & Diet Lotto is healthy, neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all his vaccinations. He gets monthly parasite prevention and eats dry kibble twice a day. He hasn’t shown any signs of allergies. When Lotto was rescued, we noticed his left front leg looked a little bent. A vet check showed it had been broken in the past but healed on its own. The bone is a bit curved, but it doesn’t bother him at all! Lotto moves, runs, and plays just like any other happy dog. Ideal Home Lotto is easy to love and would do well in almost any home. That said, his ideal family would be someone who works from home, is retired, or has a flexible schedule, not someone who leaves their dog alone for long hours. He’d be happy to have another friendly dog to play with, but he’d also be happy with a human who has lots of time to give and enjoys the outdoors. If you're looking for a sweet, obedient, and loyal companion, Lotto might just be your perfect match. ---------------------------------------------------------- Apply to adopt Lotto through link below: https://www.freekoreandogs.org/dog/lotto-2/
