Story
Silver has been waiting for a fresh start since January after being surrendered to the shelter, and the stress of long-term kennel life has become increasingly difficult for him. He was briefly adopted, but unfortunately returned when he was unable to adjust to living with a cat. Since returning to the shelter, Silver has struggled to fully settle back in and has become more overwhelmed by the constant noise and confinement of the kennel environment.Even with the stress he is experiencing, Silver has shown that he is capable of coexisting with other dogs and is considered dog tolerant. Outside of the kennel environment, there is a dog who simply needs the opportunity to decompress, feel secure, and rebuild his confidence in a calmer setting. Like many dogs who spend extended time in the shelter, Silver’s behavior appears heavily impacted by stress and lack of stability rather than a lack of potential.Silver is in needs a home that is willing to give him structure, understanding, and time to adjust at his own pace. With consistency and compassion, Silver has the potential to thrive outside of the shelter and become a wonderful companion.

Story
UPDATE:  465 DAYS AT OUR KENNEL looking for a home.  Sweet Max.one year old black lab mix. Max seems to have been incredibly unsocialized, we think possibly locked in a crate in a room alone for quite a while.  He acts like an 8 week old puppy with no boundaries but he's in a big boy body.  He needs a lot of work. Housebroken. Loves bath time and water. Loves toys. Playful and energetic, as any lab puppy should be. He's great with other dogs. Unknown with cats and other animals as he has never been around them. He needs a big yard and grass and sunshine. He is a good boy.  ##1039448##
