Haewon (approximately 15 pounds) was transferred to the NHSPCA from our friends at Humane World for Animals. This charming & affectionate cutie was rescued from a South Korean dog meat farm. Yes, you read that right and yes, that practice is now illegal. Haewon is extremely social and friendly; she loves to cuddle and give kisses. She is learning how to walk on leash and does well with minimal coaxing. When it comes to other dogs, Haewon appears to be interested in them but she lacks confidence; she prefers to spend time with smaller dogs as the size of the larger dogs seems to overwhelm her. We do not know if Haewon has ever lived in a house, so she may be worried by things that we consider normal household items - televisions, dishwashers, and washing machines can sometimes startle dogs who have no experience with these things. We also do not know if she is potty trained, but she will hopefully pick up the idea with some loving, patient, and consistent training from her understanding fur-ever person. Nara (approximately 23 pounds) was transferred to the NHSPCA from our friends at Humane World for Animals. This adorable & friendly little lady was rescued from a South Korean dog meat farm. Yes, you read that right and yes, that practice is now illegal. Nara is very social and affectionate - she loves attention and will climb into your lap for a good snuggle. She is learning how to walk on leash and getting better every day! Nara participated in some doggie play groups at his previous shelter, where we learned that she features a loose & wiggly attitude that encourages other like-minded dogs to play. Nara can even play a bit rough when the other dog is comfortable with that type of play style! We do not know if Nara has ever lived in a house, so she may be worried by things that we consider normal household items - televisions, dishwashers, and washing machines can sometimes startle dogs who have no experience with these things. We also so not know if she is potty trained, but she will hopefully pick up the idea with some loving, patient, and consistent training from her understanding fur-ever person. Crumpet (approximately 21 pounds) was transferred to the NHSPCA from our friends at Humane World for Animals. This little fellow, suspected to be 7-11 months old, was rescued from a South Korean dog meat farm. Yes, you read that right and yes, that practice is now illegal. Crumpet is very social and friendly - he leans into petting and loves to be held and cuddled. He is learning how to walk on leash but at this time it's often easier for us to carry him where he needs to go if time is an issue. He melts into your shoulder when you carry him like a baby. Crumpet participated in some doggie play groups at his previous shelter, where we learned that he is an insecure and sensitive boy, so while he likes to play with other dogs, he prefers the gentle and dainty play group. We do not know if Crumpet has ever lived in a house, so he may be worried by things that we consider normal household items - televisions, dishwashers, and washing machines can sometimes startle dogs who have no experience with these things. We also so not know if he is potty trained, but he will hopefully pick up the idea with some loving, patient, and consistent training from his understanding fur-ever person. Yes, you read that right and yes, that practice is now illegal. Sangkyung (pronounced SAHNG-kyung) is extremely social and friendly; he loves meeting new people and will lean into you for petting. He walks well on leash and is always ready to go explore the outdoors, true to his Husky heritage. Sangkyung appears to be dog-friendly - we have not had him in doggie play groups yet, but he has been friendly & interested in the dogs that he met at his previous shelter.
