Story
Meet Juliet Juliet is a gorgeous pup who does not deserve to live out her life in a shelter. She was abandoned as a puppy and brought to the safety of our shelter in 2021 and has now spent over 2 1/2 years with us. Her brother was quickly adopted but Juliet still waits and the stress of shelter life is definitely taking its toll. Juliet is thought to be a Korean Jindo or Dutch Shepherd mix. She currently weighs about 55 pounds and is absolutely stunning. She's actually put on a bit too much weight because of her long confinement. Thanks to the love and care she is receiving for the first time in her life, Juliet is showing that she loves attention. She loves one-to-one interaction, especially fetch. She connects with her person and relishes every minute of her time together. Juliet seems to do great with other dogs although she has a lot of energy and will need to learn to channel it. We believe she would chase a cat though, so would do best in a home without one. She does best with activities including agility, fetching a tennis ball, and mental stimulation. She’ll need a fenced (containment fence) yard so she can run her energy out and play safely. She’ll make for a great hiking partner or running buddy. Juliet has a sunny personality. She’s very sweet but she has a lot of energy and will need some guidance. She's whip smart and our hope is that in a loving home she will thrive. Juliet will do best with an experienced dog pawrent to help her transition to a loving home. And, having another active dog in the home would be of great benefit to her. A dog to play with and who can teach her how to live as a fur baby companion. Juliet is a wonderful dog and the lucky person and family who adopt her will be wonderfully rewarded with a loyal and loving puppers. She will need a firm but kind person who knows how to bring out the best in her presonality to overcome her stress from living in a shelter for most of her life. If interested in Juliet, please submit an application online at: https://www.charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org/page/dog-adoption-application Once an application is submitted online, you will receive an email saying your application has been successfully submitted. If you don’t receive this email within 24 hours, please check to make sure all application fields were completed or please call our shelter at 706-865-4135. All adopters must complete an approval process which involves a reference check with current/recent vet and a brief home visit if located in the immediate area. We do permit out of state adoptions. Adopters MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family member home. We do not ship nor do we transport them to their new homes. Adoption policies and application procedures are detailed at the shelter website: http://smithgallhumanesociety.org/ under tab All Adoptable Animals. Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No kill shelter. Animals in our care remain safe with us until adopted. Resident animals are primarily owner relinquished and also accepted from local Animal Control. The facility usually is operating at capacity with a list of animals waiting for space to open. Adoptions and meet and greets are being scheduled by appointment only. Please email us or complete an application and someone will be in touch just as soon as they can.
