He is learning to come when called and sits nicely when prompted. He is a homebody at heart, but he still needs plenty of exercise to burn off his occasional bursts of energy. Weighing around 75 pounds, this one-year-old is ready to bring his loyal and playful personality to a forever home.Maxx is a dog with character. He loves plush toys and squeakers, staring at his reflection, and a good game of basketball. He is an independent companion who appreciates his own space but is always ready to lend a helping paw, whether it be by pushing open doors to help bring in groceries or ringing the doorbell. His most endearing trait is the warm, cuddly welcome he gives when his people return home.He has a fantastic foundation thanks to his foster family. Maxx is house-trained, crate-trained (and prefers to sleep in his crate even with the door wide open), and knows basic commands like `sit` and `stop.` He loves his walks and is making great progress on leash manners, though he will do best with a confident walker who can continue his training. He has been good with older children and shows a playful curiosity toward other dogs on walks.Maxx is looking for an active, patient family who can provide him with the love and structure he needs to truly thrive. Our wonderful Akita, Bo, needs a new home due to our current situation. We are so sad to let him go but have limited options. He is very friendly, well socialized, and grew up around other dogs and our cats. He is calm and great tempered, no aggression at all toward other dogs or people. Hes very gentle and incredibly smart. He does know how to open sliding doors and does it when he wants to go outside or come back inside (we have a fenced yard He is not neutered but is up to date on shots. He will go to his new home with a goody bag, which includes his vaccine record and week worth of food.
