Story
Meet Cassidy — and yes, he’s every bit as epic as his name suggests. This 2-year-old Alaskan Malamute was with us as a much smaller guy once upon a time, but is all grown up now… and by grown up, we mean a 140-pound, fluffy, magnificent mammoth of a dog. If you’ve ever dreamed of living with a real-life wolf look-alike who also thinks he’s a giant baby, Cassidy might be your guy. When Cassidy first came to us as a puppy, he was a sweet, playful farm-raised boy learning how to navigate life inside a home. Now at 2 years old, he’s still that same sweet soul — just supersized. Cassidy is affectionate, loyal, and bonds deeply with his people. He thrives with structure and consistency, and like many Malamutes, he needs confident leadership and ongoing training. He recently came back to us because he was afraid to get into the car, but our trainer was able to work with him and successfully load him up — which tells us this is absolutely a workable issue with patience and continued positive training. He’s not stubborn… he’s just a big guy who sometimes needs help building confidence.Let’s be honest: 140 pounds of Malamute is not for the faint of heart. Cassidy will do best in a home with a physically capable owner who is prepared for his size and strength, continued training and structure, and with someone ready to embrace the grooming, shedding, and personality that comes with this incredible breed. In return? You get devotion, goofiness, a stunningly handsome companion, and a loyal shadow who will make you feel like the chosen one. Cassidy is looking for a patient, experienced home ready to help him continue blossoming into the majestic, steady companion we know he can be. If you’re ready for big love in an even bigger package, Cassidy is waiting. All of our dogs and cats are spayed/neutered, up to date with age appropriate vaccinations, heart worm or feleuk/FIV tested, fecal tested, rabies and tag, and microchipped before being placed in your home. Our adoption fee helps cover this cost.
