Story
Meet Lucky!  Lucky is an 11-month-old, 55-pound female Akita mix with a heart full of love and a playful personality that’s impossible not to adore! This beautiful girl is incredibly sweet, friendly, and always happy to make new friends.  Lucky absolutely LOVES people, kids, and other dogs! She’s a social, fun-loving girl who enjoys playing and spending time with her favorite humans and canine companions. She’s also great with cats, although she sometimes hopes they’ll join in on the fun and play with her! At just 11 months old, Lucky still has plenty of puppy enthusiasm! She gets excited to greet people and is working on keeping all four paws on the ground instead of jumping up to say hello. She’s a sweetheart who just needs a little continued guidance as she grows. Why you’ll love Lucky: Super sweet and affectionate Friendly and outgoing Loves kids Great with other dogs Cat friendly and wants to play Playful and full of personality Enjoys spending time with people Does well on leash Mostly potty trained Young and eager to learn Has so much love to give! Lucky is doing well with her puppy basics! She walks nicely on leash in familiar, comfortable situations, although she can become nervous at times and may need a little extra reassurance. She’s also mostly potty trained and continuing to make progress. One thing to know about Lucky is that she sometimes experiences submissive urination when she’s frightened. This is an involuntary response to feeling nervous, not a house-training issue or something she’s doing intentionally. A patient, gentle family who uses positive reinforcement and helps her build confidence will be important for her continued progress. Lucky would thrive with a loving family who appreciates her playful spirit and is willing to continue working on her confidence and puppy manners. With her friendly personality and love for other animals and children, she has so much potential to become an incredible family companion! If you’re looking for a sweet, playful, affectionate girl who’s ready to share a lifetime of love and adventures, Lucky might just be your perfect match!  Apply to adopt Lucky here:https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/70992/generic Lucky is located in Texas but can be adopted locally or out of state. We coordinate safe transport and offer video meet-and-greets to ensure it’s the perfect fit. ##2809038##

Story
Meet Kit Kat  Kit Kat is a 1.5-year-old, 50-pound Chow Chow/Cattle Dog mix with an incredible story of resilience and a heart that’s learning every day that people can be trusted. Kit Kat came to us when she was about 5 months old after surviving on the streets her entire life alongside her siblings. Because they had very little exposure to people during those important early months, they came into rescue extremely under-socialized and unsure of the world around them. Since then, Kit Kat’s foster family has poured countless hours into helping her build confidence, and the transformation has been nothing short of amazing. We are so incredibly proud of how far she’s come, and she continues to make progress every single day. Kit Kat would thrive in a home with at least one confident, friendly dog. She absolutely loves other dogs and learns so much by watching them. Having a canine companion to play with, snuggle with, and help show her the ropes is one of the most important things her forever home can provide. While Kit Kat is quicker to trust dogs than people, once you earn her trust, you’ll discover an incredibly affectionate, loving companion. She loves snuggling with her dog friends, rolling around in the grass, showing off the cutest zoomies, and enjoying a tasty treat or two. Why you’ll love Kit Kat: Sweet and affectionate once she trusts you Loves other dogs Would thrive with a confident canine companion Loves rolling in the grass Adorable zoomies Food motivated and eager to learn Medium energy Crate trained Potty trained Kit Kat can be timid in new environments and around new people, but she’s never shown fear aggression. When she’s unsure, she simply chooses to create distance rather than react. She’ll need an adopter who understands that trust is earned, not rushed, and who is willing to let her move at her own pace. She’s potty trained but may have an occasional nervous accident if she’s pushed into a new situation too quickly. She’s also crate trained. While she can be nervous walking on a short, taut leash, she does wonderfully on a longer leash where she has a little more freedom to feel comfortable and secure. Kit Kat hasn’t had the opportunity to freely interact with cats, but she has calmly observed them while crated and has shown no desire to chase or react to them. Although Kit Kat missed out on important early socialization, she has made truly remarkable progress in rescue. Every week she becomes a little braver, a little more confident, and a little more trusting. We have no doubt that with a patient adopter, another friendly dog, and continued positive experiences, Kit Kat will blossom into an incredible lifelong companion. Watching a dog like Kit Kat learn that the world isn’t such a scary place is one of the most rewarding experiences imaginable. Whoever gives this special girl the chance she deserves is going to witness something truly beautiful.
